The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is a key supply chain support role within KCNSC’s Integrated Supply Chain. This role leads the overall strategy execution associated within the assigned commodities. This includes executing supplier contracts and strategic projects that are aligned with the overall commodity strategies, communication to the supply base regarding demand profiles, ensuring supplier capacity meets demand, and supporting the overall supplier relationship management initiatives.
Duties And Responsibilities
Actively performs contract negotiations and maintains supplier contracts in accordance with the KCNSC prime contract executive orders, public law, NNSA approved procedures, FAR/DEAR, and appropriate supply chain management principles.
Tracks, monitors, and documents and contractual changes.
Supports the development of commodity strategies and leads the execution of those strategies.
Leads analysis of key Sourcing KPI’s such as spend, supplier performance, risk, and segmentation while conducting part sub-commodity strategy analysis.
Leads sourcing staff in the use of strategic sourcing tools such as Supplier Scorecard distribution and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
Leads cross-functional Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), capacity assurance, supplier forecasting, and scorecard distribution in efforts to maintain optimum supplier performance.
Performs periodic updating of supplier risk analysis tools such as Supplier Resiliency Overview to maintain and update the risk analysis database. Mitigates supplier risk as necessary.
Provides the evaluation of vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation strategies and sourcing techniques to ensure lowest Total Cost of Ownership is achieved.
You Must Have
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
Five or more years of progressive supply chain planning, metrics management, procurement, sourcing, or project management experience.
Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
United States Citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

Experience in sourcing fundamentals.
Knowledge of government contracting requirements including a working understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
Advanced degree, ISM, CPSM certification, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
A working knowledge of purchasing procedures, products, services and strategic supplier management concepts.
Demonstrated ability to identify, lead and execute innovative commercial best practices and sourcing strategies.
