Job description

About Eightx

We provide Fractional CFO, Controllership and Bookkeeping services for fast-growing eCommerce Brands and Agencies from Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom with one goal in mind:

To help eCommerce business owners scale their businesses with more cash and less stress.

This requires a broad range of skills including financial modeling, risk management, understanding of US/Canadian GAAP, financing, audit, investor relations and more.

Lastly, as you might expect of a finance company, we work really hard when we need to, but we don’t work hard just for the sake of it. We don’t miss our kids’ concerts, we work out during the day and we usually sign off early on Fridays.

What we want

We want to be seen as the most helpful and trusted Fractional CFO firm on the planet.

We give value to others, we create tools to help people, we write content that teaches people.

When people think about hiring a Fractional CFO or Bookkeeper, we will be the first company people in our niche think of.

About the position

  • Initiate conversations that lead to booked discovery or sales calls.
  • Qualify prospects by identifying needs, budget, timeline, and decision-makers.

  • Proactive Communication Skills: You’re comfortable reaching out cold, nurturing warm leads, and turning online interactions into booked meetings. You know how to personalize outreach and handle objections with confidence.
  • Strong Qualifying Ability: You can ask the right questions to understand budget, timeline, authority, and need—ensuring only serious prospects make it to the sales team.
  • Tech Fluency: You’re comfortable using CRM tools, LinkedIn, email automation platforms, and other lead-gen tools to manage your outreach efficiently.
  • Time Zone Availability: You’re able to work Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm Pacific Time (Vancouver, Canada).
  • Extreme Reliability & Follow-Through: You do what you say you’re going to do. You follow up without being reminded. You keep the CRM up to date and the pipeline moving.

Eightx Company Values

We are forward-thinking

We are always thinking about the future. We keep tabs on the economy, current trends in industries, and current best practices.

We know about problems and solutions before our clients do. We proactively suggest new ideas and opportunities. We proactively mitigate risk.

We are continually seeking ways to improve both ours and our clients' businesses. We are constantly innovating our own processes and the ways we deliver value to our clients.

We are disciplined

We do great work. Why?

We double check. We ask for input. We review. We test. We verify.

We get up and take a walk around the block, so we can look at our work with "fresh eyes".

We are literally the best at what we do.

We are scrappy

We figure shit out. We never throw our hands up and say "I don't know". We challenge the status quo.

Compared to others, we get more done on tighter budgets.

We work to improve client processes. We take time to understand client processes, we think of ways to improve client processes.

We are client-centric

Our clients are the core of our "Why". How do we live this core value?

  • we always schedule in our client's time zones
  • we work hard to make sure they feel valued
  • we empathize when needed
  • we do our best to understand our clients needs, and then we meet them (we don't rely on scope or past processes only)

We care deeply about our clients as people.

Work can and should make our lives better

Work should add to our quality of life, not take away from it.

While we work crazy hard sometimes we don't do it regularly.

We believe in flexibility. We work during those hours that we feel most energized and we work in the locations that allow us to live our best lives (france? the beach?).

EMBRACE

We EMBRACE each other. We embrace diversity and inclusivity, creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.

We are an equal-opportunity employer committed to embracing individuals of every race, gender, age, culture, nationality, sexual orientation and background.

By fostering a culture of EMBRACE, we celebrate unique perspectives, encourage collaboration, and promote an environment where diversity thrives.

Together, we build a strong and inclusive community that drives innovation, fosters personal growth, and reflects the richness of the world around us.
