Location: Remote (New Zealand & Australia Focus)
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Auckland Time)
Employment Type: Part-Time (20 hours per week)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Part-Time SEO Specialist who is experienced, proactive, and highly skilled in technical SEO. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of managing their workflow with minimal supervision. You will work directly with the internal team to implement SEO strategies across WordPress and Shopify platforms, optimise site performance, and drive measurable improvements in search engine visibility.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on SEO work, takes initiative, and communicates effectively in UK English.



Key Responsibilities
1. On-Page SEO Implementation
  • Upload and optimise content across WordPress and Shopify sites with a focus on user-first best practices.

  • Maintain SEO-friendly heading structures, internal linking strategies, and metadata.

  • Ensure consistent application of on-page SEO fundamentals.

2. Keyword Research & Content Briefs
  • Conduct detailed keyword research for businesses targeting NZ and Australian markets.

  • Recommend keyword strategies that align with client goals.

  • Create comprehensive content briefs for the in-house copywriter using keyword and competitor insights.

3. Technical SEO & Performance Optimisation
  • Improve site speed and Core Web Vitals (including FCP and LCP).

  • Implement technical elements including:

    • Canonical tags

    • Hreflang

    • robots.txt and XML sitemaps

    • JavaScript and CSS optimisation

    • Image compression and alt text

    • Schema markup and structured data

  • Troubleshoot and resolve crawl errors and indexation issues.

4. SEO Audits & Strategy Development
  • Collaborate on initial SEO audits for new clients and implement prioritised recommendations.

  • Over time, take ownership of conducting and presenting SEO audits independently.

  • Develop long-term SEO strategies tailored to client business goals and target audiences.

5. SEO Reporting & Data Analysis
  • Create clear, informative monthly SEO reports highlighting completed tasks, metrics, and results.

  • Use tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, Ahrefs, and SEMrush to track performance.

  • Provide data-driven insights and action plans to improve site visibility and engagement.
