Job description

The expected salary range for this position is $120,230.00 - $150,280.00. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. The Sr. Product Designer role is a key role within our growing Innovation & New Products group. This group is focused on discovering, ideating, testing, creating, and scaling new products and innovations to release exponentially more children from poverty. In this role you will lead the research and design of an exciting, lovable new experience for Compassion’s live events and help the team bring it to market through agile and iterative methods. This includes driving the thinking behind the research and design strategy and executing on the details to deliver a best-in-class experience. You will work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and partner teams to transform visionary ideas into a delightful live event experience that engage and captivate your neighbors.

 

What will you do?

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors..

  • Role model continual advocacy and working backwards from the customer.

  • Effectively advocating and designing for the customer through objective data such as market analysis, customer insights, user experience research, user centered design methods, technical constraints/opportunities, and marketing insights.

  • Take responsibility for the overall end-to-end user experience from the big picture to UI layout specifics

  • Quickly and thoroughly creating e2e CX journey maps of Compassion’s live events activities, user flows, wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors that support decision making and development.

  • Envision and bring to life intuitive, scalable, and engaging interactions and experiences by leveraging best practices and innovating where needed throughout the e2e journey of Compassion’s live events by introducing various UX opportunities for concert attendees to sponsor a child.

  • Establish design guidelines, best practices, and standards, leveraging up-to-date and emerging design patterns and trends.

  • Drive consistent design language across the product by maintaining consistency in visual elements and behavior.

  • Engage in all phases of the product development lifecycle to deliver a loveable product to market.

  • Partnering closely with product and engineering to plan and balance immediate requirements with long-term, scalable solutions.

  • Assessing and optimizing the effectiveness of new and existing features by proactively planning, performing, and advocating validation techniques like usability testing, user research, and interpreting analytical data

  • Presenting design work to UX partners, cross-disciplinary teams, and executive leaders.

  • Coaches and provides expertise and may oversee the work of other professionals and support staff in the user experience discipline.

  • Proven experience design and shipping consumer tech products.

  • Strong passion for working backwards from the customer to create lovable products

  • Experience in inventing, designing, and launching consumer tech products at large scale (millions of users)

  • Experience partnering with engineering, design, and operations teams

  • Experience designing global products
