Job description

We are currently looking for a new External Insurance Wholesaler to serve the Western Quebec territory (Greater Montreal Area) with a market focus on National Accounts (bank and non-bank owned insurance specialists of securities firms).

Reporting to the Head of Distribution, Individual Insurance Sales, Quebec; the External Insurance Wholesaler will be accountable for:

 

·       providing case consultation

·       sales

·       product 

·       marketing support

 

to select advisors and intermediaries in the territory in order to drive sales of individual life and living benefit insurance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with key advisors by providing training, consultation, field work, and sales support.

  • Be a contact in providing assistance in the resolution of problem situations that may arise with the intermediaries and individuals within the region;

  • Identify growth opportunities and create business development plans.

  • Conduct sales meetings and develop marketing strategies to support consultants.

  • Represent Manulife in the local financial community and ensure compliance with policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Fully bilingual (French/English): The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.

  • Previous industry sales experience;

  • University Degree or equivalent industry education;

  • Knowledge and expertise in personal and corporate taxation and financial planning;

  • Attained or working on relevant professional designations (CLU, CFP, and CH.F.C.);

  • Knowledge of regulatory issues impacting the sale of life insurance;

  • Strong knowledge of marketing concept and product application;

  • Strong knowledge of competitive positioning;

  • Facilitation and presentation skills;

  • Self-motivated and strong self-management skills;

  • Ability to develop, organize and deliver proposals, business cases, and estate analysis;

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
