The Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and Enterprise Architect (EA) role is responsible for establishing digital strategies in partnership with the Digital Technology (DT) Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to accelerate digital transformation within the business. This is a highly strategic role within the Collins Enterprise Architecture (EA) organization, collaborating extensively with all areas of DT, the SBU, and RTX Enterprise and Digital Services.

** This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **

  • Exhibits strategic thinking and decisiveness in aligning technical outcomes with business needs.

  • Communicates with clarity, poise, and authority, tailoring tone and messaging to effectively engage and influence a wide range of cross-functional audiences.

  • You will analyze industry trends and emerging technologies to anticipate their impact on enterprise strategy and drive innovation.

  • Acts as a Digital Technology (DT) thought leader and architectural evangelist, effectively communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You will seek cross-functional partnerships to align technology initiatives with business goals with the intent to maximize impact.

  • Identifies and champions opportunities where digital solutions can create measurable business value.

  • Takes the lead in driving discussions, proposing solutions, and ensuring follow-through on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.

  • Current DoD Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • 10+ years of experience in senior-level technical roles, guiding architecture and engineering initiatives across complex environments.

  • Deep hands-on experience across Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Infrastructure, Application Architecture, Integration, Business Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Data domains.

  • Strong understanding of digital transformation strategies, product development, and full product lifecycle management.

  • Proven ability to design and validate system architectures and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) integration approaches.

  • Skilled in identifying and planning future-state architectures and technology pipelines aligned with business goals.

  • Demonstrated success in conceiving and delivering innovative, value-driven solutions using emerging technologies.

  • Industry Standards & Frameworks – Familiarity with industry-standard technology frameworks and methods (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, etc.).

  • Proven ability to lead collaborative, flexible, and productive teams across business functions, geographies, and disciplines.

  • Skilled at interfacing with executive-level stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business strategy and outcomes.

  • Experience mentoring junior associates and enhancing team communication and customer-facing capabilities.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced Degree (i.e., M.S., Ph.D.) or domain experience in any of the key technology space capabilities (i.e., cybersecurity, AI / ML, Data Analytics).

  • Industry recognized Enterprise Architect certifications (i.e., Open Group Certified Architect, AWS Certified Solution Architect, etc.).

  • Operationalized Agile Software Development understanding / practices.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
