Sales Manager, Program Consulting Team

LifeLabs Learning is seeking a data-driven and experienced Sales Manager to join our team. This role oversees a team of sales consultants focused on exceeding revenue targets through new client acquisition. As Sales Manager, you’ll leverage our cutting edge sales tech stack to optimize inbound lead close rates by ensuring the sales team conducts high quality sales discovery meetings and follow up solution design calls. You will establish sales excellence (development) sessions to continually improve skills and track consultant development and success. You will help consultants build their annual and monthly sales plans and establish prospecting cadences to set up appointments, grow skills and pipeline. You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners in marketing, product, and client experience to develop lead generation, appointment setting strategies and account based marketing promotion plans to ensure we grow the opportunity pipeline. You’ll work with other sales leaders to set the vision and cadence for sales operations, owning time forecasting, performance metrics, and pipeline hygiene to ensure a high-functioning, data-informed sales engine.

You will lead a team of dynamic Sales Consultants (Account Executives) who are passionate about driving growth and building lasting client relationships. In this role, you’ll oversee a team responsible for fueling revenue through new client acquisition and account expansion. You’ll serve as both a strategic partner and hands-on coach, ensuring your team consistently exceeds goals while strengthening their prospecting and selling capabilities and fostering a culture of curiosity, playfulness, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate brings at least 3 years of client-facing sales management experience. Sales experience in Education, EdTech is a plus. This role requires up to 20% travel to support team and client events, with as much notice provided as possible.

The deets:

  • Start date: ASAP

  • Location: Remote (can be based anywhere in the U.S.)

  • Employment Type: Full-time

  • Starting Salary: $120K starting base salary; you will also be part of a sales manager incentive plan.

    • The on-target earnings (OTE) for this role are $200K, based on achieving performance goals.

  • Long-Term Incentive Plan: As part of your compensation package, you will be eligible to participate in the company's Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP). Your equity grant will be commensurate with the Expert band of this role.

What You’ll Do:

  • Revenue & Business Growth

    • Lead the team to meet or exceed sales targets for new business.

    • Own short- and long-term sales planning to align with company revenue goals.

    • Identify and develop strategies for lead generation, prospecting, new market segments, verticals, or client personas.

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision

    • Continuously improve the team’s sales approach and align execution to company goals.

    • Develop and refine systems for time and territory management, lead distribution, and opportunity prioritization.

    • Evaluate and evolve appointment setting and go-to-market approach as needed to improve outcomes.

  • Team Development & Coaching

    • Provide regular 1:1 coaching to support skill-building in areas like prospecting, objection handling, pipeline management, and storytelling.

    • Facilitate knowledge sharing across the team (e.g., call reviews, templates, success stories).

    • Create onboarding, ramp-up, and progression plans for new and tenured reps.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with marketing to develop and iterate on campaigns, events, and content that generate qualified leads and drive brand awareness.

    • Work with product and client experience teams to share customer insights and inform improvements

    • Support alignment across departments to ensure a unified customer experience.

  • Operational Excellence

    • Ensure accurate, timely pipeline management and forecasting using CRM tools.

    • Maintain rigor around data entry, opportunity stages, and close date accuracy.

    • Monitor and report on key performance metrics; recommend improvements based on trends.

  • Performance Management

    • Set, communicate, and monitor clear KPIs tied to activities (e.g., calls, meetings), conversions (e.g., SQL to close), and outcomes (e.g., revenue).

    • Address underperformance through coaching plans and feedback loops.
      Celebrate and scale strong performance through recognition and development opportunities.

  • External Presence & Client Relationships

    • Serve as a public-facing representative of LifeLabs Learning at key client events, conferences, and panels.

    • Cultivate executive-level relationships with clients to model strategic selling and retention practices.

    • Represent the voice of the customer internally, advocating for their needs and perspectives.

Success Metrics:

  • Achievement of new client acquisition and rebooking quotas.

  • Team performance against revenue targets and KPIs.

  • Growth in average deal value and client retention.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 3 years sales management experience achieving and exceeding sales targets in a data-driven outbound environment.  Experience in environments such as call centers or working with SDR teams is a plus.

  • Additional sales leadership and hands-on experience in building outbound prospecting capabilities strongly preferred.

  • Data-driven approach to ensure growth in every stage of the pipeline. Expertise in using KPIs and performance metrics to drive results.

  • A proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and developing high-performing teams. 

  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and motivational skills to develop individual and team strengths.

  • Familiarity with SaaS software, subscription agreements, and contract negotiation.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and sales automation tools (e.g. Gong).

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical, communication, and sales skills.

  • Experience managing forecasts, budgets, and incentive plans to drive behaviors.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in shared leadership environments.

  • Experience in Learning & Development or EdTech preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with HubSpot preferred.
