Job description

Position Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Construction Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of rooftop solar, roofing, and electrical construction projects across California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy systems, roofing construction methods, and electrical installation practices. This role requires a proactive leader with excellent communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the flexibility to travel to job sites across the state. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage all aspects of project execution including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and site safety. 
  • Oversee the installation of rooftop solar PV systems, roofing scopes, and electrical infrastructure across commercial and residential sites. 
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to ensure project compliance. 
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings, progress inspections, and final project walk-throughs. 
  • Coordinate closely with project engineers, procurement teams, AHJs, and utility representatives. 
  • Ensure all work is completed according to code, permitting requirements, and company standards. 
  • Identify and resolve construction-related issues in real-time to avoid project delays. 
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including daily logs, change orders, punch lists, and inspection reports. 
  • Enforce high safety standards and participate in regular safety meetings and audits. 
  • Travel to various project sites throughout California, with some overnight stays required. 

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction management with a focus on rooftop solar, roofing, and electrical projects. 
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, CBC, and OSHA requirements. 
  • Familiarity with SolarEdge, Qcells, and other leading solar technologies a plus. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and budget controls. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency in project management software, construction management platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record. 
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred. 
  • NABCEP, CSLB licenses, or journeyman-level electrical background a plus. 

 

Work Environment & Travel: 

  • Must be willing and able to travel statewide to active construction sites. 
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and on rooftops. 
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks related to site inspections.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current annual salary range is $93,000-$115,000.
