Job description

Virtual US Accountant will be heavily involved in the client month-end close process and preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be an extremely tech savvy, experienced accountant with fluency in ERP systems, QuickBooks Online, and Excel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile daily cash activities and bank statements
  • Create and Modify Invoices and handle A/R reporting
  • Create and modify financial reports on the accounting software
  • Perform general accounting functions as required
  • Prepare general ledger entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare and analyze financial data.
  • Update and maintain general ledger chart of accounts
  • Assist/prepare various accounting and financial spreadsheets
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing process
  • Coordinate activity on capital leases/loans
  • Review and file end of year IRS 1099 reports for clients
  • Recommend more accurate and efficient procedures for all accounting functions
  • Ensure that confidentiality regarding company, clients, or vendors is not disclosed to anyone except as authorized

  • Mastery of cash and accrual accounting, with the ability to apply proper accounting standards across a range of industries.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements
  • Ability to maintain, create, and understand complex spreadsheets and database applications
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic, multitasking environment.
  • Capacity to work with limited supervision, independently, and as a team member
  • Self-motivation and initiative to improve processes, resolve uncertainties and drive results
