Job description

Diversified Radiology is a thriving and growing 75+ radiologist group founded in 1927 and partnered with US Radiology Specialists. Our practice is dedicated to providing quality, sub-specialized care and expertise in Denver, Colorado and throughout the nation via teleradiology. Our practice is truly ‘diversified’ providing diagnostic and interventional excellence to improve patient care with different hospital systems, independent outpatient imaging centers, tertiary care centers, community hospitals, specialty practices, and stand-alone ED and urgent care centers in 18 states and growing. Our case mix and complexity rivals that of teaching hospitals, but in a relaxed practice setting that values work/life balance. 

This position is responsible for efficiently accessing patient records, within a healthcare setting.  This position will serve as the liaison between the medical imaging outpatient center and the DRC radiologists regarding organizing, maintaining, and retrieving patient information accurately, maintaining confidentiality, ensuring the timely collection of relevant prior imaging of patients medical history, test results, and imaging studies prior to the patients appointment.   

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the workflow management and coordination with staff members to ensure all pre appointment tasks are completed prior to the patient appointment time.
  • Retrieve prior patient studies, reports, and images, ensuring accuracy and completeness prior to patient appointment/exam.
  • Perform data entry, keeping patient records updated with new medical information, patient demographics, while ensuring all information is accurately entered into the Radiology system(s).
  • Scan and upload patient medical documents into the Radiology system(s).
  • Maintain strict confidentiality abiding by all HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy when discussing and handling patient information and records.

  • Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in a hospital or private practice operations preferred 
  • Prior knowledge of radiology systems, techniques, methods and equipment required
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ customer service experience required
  • Prior experience maintaining confidentiality of patient records under HIPAA law preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience maintaining confidentiality of patient records under HIPAA law preferred, but not required
  • Must ensure remote workspace is HIPAA compliant and follow all company policies regarding PHI access and storage, including secure storage of printed material

  • Competencies & Expectations
  • Outside PACS systems, must have knowledge of other PACS systems and keeps their own username and passwords up to date.  Does not need to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of those systems.
  • Must display proficiency in customer experience, using a phone with a headset, and have the ability to take, place, and transfer calls. 
  • Must be able to support callers with a professional and friendly demeanor and demonstrate the ability to actively listen to the needs of the caller and have the knowledge to support the call.
  • Contributes to the achievement of excellence in healthcare through the quality and caring values of the philosophy of the company.
  • Demonstrates courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication with all co-workers, patients, physicians, and customers.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of patient records and information to ensure that patient rights under HIPAA are protected at all times.
  • Knowledge of radiology clinical and administrative concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with physicians and leadership to develop and monitor quality program.

  • Environmental/ Working Conditions:
  • Sitting up to 8-hrs a day.

  • Starting Hourly Pay: $16.50 – $19.00, based on experience.
