THE ROLE
The Vice President, Portfolio Partnerships will lead a best-in-class team of partnership executives to drive client success for our Portfolio Partners across our portfolio of venues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a commercially creative, solutions-oriented leader focused on driving value and innovation for Portfolio Partners.
  • Establish and implement  industry best practices in client management, including contract management and fulfilment, performance reporting, , upsell strategies and renewal processes.
  • Manage a team of experts that will advocate and represent our Portfolio Partners  increasing their integration and business revenue within our portfolio of venues across North America.
  • Share and apply global best practices  while maintaining a focus on North America
  • Forge and nurture C-suite relationships with client partners and venues to maximize the potential for partner integration and growth of the Portfolio Partner platform.
  • Forge and nurture relationships with staff across the organization including corporate leadership, venue operations, finance etc. as well as venue level staff including GMs to facilitate integration of partner solutions.
  • Work with SVP & Operations to set and manage annual revenue targets for the Portfolio Partners and overdeliver on goals.
  • Represent the Portfolio Partnerships discipline across the organization within division executive meetings, internal conferences, etc.
  • Provide ongoing and active executive support on both strategic & tactical matters with direct reports and partners
  • Serve  as the primary point of contact for high-value growth-oriented partnerships.
  • Identify and develop business cases for new tools and resources to support partner success efforts.
  • Set and manage overall Portfolio Partnerships budget.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Lead and develop an initial team of 3 to 4 Director / Manager level staff (US Based) and develop a business case for future staffing needs as the portfolio grows.
  • Coach, develop, educate, share best practices among partner success personnel not under direct supervision including personnel located internationally.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in the field of venue, property, agency, or rights holder sponsorship management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum five (five) years leading a team.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the principles, practices, and terminology of partnerships and business development. 
  • Ability to thrive in a complex matrix environment including partnerships, venues, procurement, finance, HR, and operations.
  • Willingness to learn the underpinnings of the venue management and operations business
  • Desire to become fluent on the individual venue nuances of the venue portfolio and parameters of the different internal divisions to be the most effective advocate for our partners
  • Strong sense of empathy and perspective to assess situations, and in turn solutions, through an informed lens of different facets of our organization
  • Strong communication and presentation skills both written and oral.
  • Proven ability to fulfill, renew and upsell partnerships.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in selling and servicing partners.
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Power Point, Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related standard office equipment.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with all stakeholders including clients, agencies, and employees.
  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
