Medical Affairs Specialist - Benelux (based remotely in Netherlands)

Role summary

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative attitude to join our Medical Affairs team in the Benelux. The Medical Affairs Specialist will serve as a key scientific and medical resource for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and internal partners. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), providing scientific and clinical support, and ensuring the safe and effective use of the CGM sensors.

Where you come in

  • You develop and maintain relationships with KOLs, HCPs, and other partners in the Benelux region.
  • You deliver high-quality scientific presentations and educational programs to KOLs, HCPs, patient groups, and other partners.
  • You provide medical support to HCPs, including answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  • You collaborate with internal teams, including medical affairs, clinical affairs, marketing, sales and market access, and if requested also to selected distributors’ teams.
  • You attend and present at scientific conferences, meetings, and other events.
  • You monitor and report on scientific and clinical developments in the field, including competitor activities and emerging trends.
  • You handle medical information and provide training and support to internal teams, including sales and marketing, on scientific and clinical topics.
  • You support regulatory activities and ensure compliance with local regulations and guidelines.

What makes you successful

  • 3 years of proven experience as an MSL or a similar role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical technology industry, preferably in the diabetes field.
  • Preferably an advanced degree in a relevant scientific or medical field (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD).
  • Fluent in English, Dutch and ideally French with the ability to read and interpret clinical and scientific documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to convey complex information in a manner that meets the needs of the audience.
  • A team-focused and collaborative approach to work.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and guidelines.

Travel Required:

This is a home-based role with required flexibility to travel extensively across the Benelux region (circa. 35% of the time).

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience or Master’s degree and 2-5 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 0-2 years experience.

Remote Workplace: Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available. Ask about our Flex workplace option.
