Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO

·       Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS or other relevant accounting standards

·       Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial data

·       Provide detailed financial analysis, including performance variance analysis, cash flow management, and financial forecasting to support decision-making

·       Ensure the integrity of financial records, maintaining compliance with local and international accounting regulations, as well as insurance industry-specific requirements

·       Manage and optimize accounting processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices for operational efficiency

·       Oversee tax compliance and assist with the preparation of tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission in line with tax laws and regulations

·       Lead the coordination and completion of external audits, liaising with auditors and ensuring that all audit requirements are met

·       Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as underwriting, claims, and product development, to ensure alignment of financial reporting with business operations

·       Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture

·       Support the Finance Manager / Financial Controller in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting processes

·       Monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring the business remains compliant with financial regulations and best practices

·       Contribute to the development of financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

·       3-4 years of post CPA qualification experience

·       Proven expertise in insurance accounting, including underwriting, claims, and regulatory compliance

·       Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and insurance-specific accounting requirements

·       Solid experience in financial reporting, budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis

·       Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with a track record of managing and developing finance teams

·       Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Excel

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

·       Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

·       Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership

·       A proactive, results-driven approach with the ability to drive financial performance and process improvements

·       Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, dynamic environment
