Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patient Collections Specialist to join our team in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience working in a medical practice setting and a proven track record of effectively contacting patients regarding their outstanding balances. As a Patient Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate collection of patient payments, thereby contributing to the financial health of our practice.
Responsibilities
Contact patients with outstanding balances to discuss payment options and resolve any billing issues.
Maintain accurate records of patient accounts, payments, and communication.
Utilize Central Reach, Sales Force, and the Google suite of products to manage patient accounts and track collections efforts.
Collaborate with billing and administrative staff to address patient inquiries and concerns.
Follow up with patients regarding payment arrangements and overdue accounts.
Provide excellent customer service to patients while adhering to all HIPAA regulations and privacy policies.
Meet monthly collection goals and performance metrics.
Requirements
Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred but not required).
Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
3-5 years of experience in a medical practice setting, focusing on patient collections.
Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance claims.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Central Reach, Sales Force, and the Google suite of products.
