Position Summary
The Senior PMO Manager is responsible for maintaining Project Management systems, tools, and best practices leveraged by the Project Managers and the cross-functional product teams to drive the development and commercialization of Crinetics molecules. This role will also support the continuous improvement of these systems, tools, and best practices to increase efficiency and consistency across our product development and commercialization efforts. The primary focus of the Senior Manager, PMO, is to ensure that the core project management systems (Planisware, OnePager) are maintained and continue to evolve to meet the needs of the business. This position may be remote with expectation of being in San Diego 1-2 times per quarter.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:
- Partner closely with the Project Managers to ensure that Planisware remains the single source of truth for project timelines.
- Work with functional stakeholders to update as needed project timeline templates and standards in Planisware and OnePager.
- Maintain and support the continuous improvement of the resource and cost equations in Planisware.
- Oversee in collaboration with Planisware consultants the implementation of new configurations in Planisware.
- Partner with Finance and the Project Managers to generate resource and cost forecasts from Planisware to support key financial processes (e.g. Long Range Plan) and product investment decision at Governance.
- Conduct periodic data quality audit on project timelines, costs and resources in Planisware.
- Maintain Planisware and OnePager training resources and onboard/train new Project Managers on these two systems.
- Be a subject matter expert on Planisware and OnePager and provide ongoing support for data issues and system troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Planisware and OnePager points of contact to assess system improvement needs, e.g. system version upgrades.
- Partner with IT to resolve as quickly as possible system access or performance issues.
Support the Senior Director, PMO, in driving the evolution and implementation of the long-term vision for core project management systems. Drive best practices across Functions and Project Management to ensure alignment between functional and cross-functional program timelines in Planisware.
- Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of core project management and drug development processes (e.g., target product profile, stage gates process).
- Provide project management support for cross-functional initiatives or enterprise business process improvements.
- Maintain documentation on PM and drug development processes and update the content on the Governance, Product Teams, & Process SharePoint site.
Required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in biological sciences or a related field is required. Minimum 3 or more years of experience in a PMO role in Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry is required with a focus on maintaining and improving PM systems. (an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered)
- Strong understanding of drug development and project management systems, tools, and processes.
- Prior experience with Planisware is highly desirable.
- Strong customer focus and ability to manage expectations while creating productive partnerships focused on business value creation.
- Detailed oriented and focused on always delivering high quality data and solutions.
- Comfortable with ambiguity, frequent change as well as strong change management capability and experience.
- Proven ability to function effectively across a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders and constituents.
- Highly collaborative with strong teamwork and relationship building skills.
- Prior experience supporting the implementation or continuous improvement of project management tools and systems.
- Proficiency with project management tools and systems including Smartsheet, SharePoint, One Pager, and Power BI.
- Prior experience with supporting large, cross-functional business process improvements projects preferred.
Physical Demands And Work Environment
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Travel
You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.
The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $127,000 - $158,000

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education.
