Responsibilities of UMass Global full-time faculty include teaching, mentoring, and service. Research activities are supported but not required. All faculty positions are non-tenure track, primarily hired at the rank of Assistant Professor, however, higher rank may be considered if appropriate. The ideal candidate will have:
A Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Studies, or a closely related field from an accredited university is preferred. A doctoral-level degree in another discipline will also be considered, provided the candidate has substantial professional or academic experience in music and/or art.
At least two years of higher-ed online teaching experience as the instructor of record.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
The preferred candidate will have:
A background in art, music, or another creative discipline that contributes to the interdisciplinary liberal arts.
Experience or interest in teaching in self-paced modalities.
Familiarity with media and technology in the candidate’s academic or creative field, including use of digital tools to support student engagement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in curriculum development incorporates interdisciplinary themes and multiple methods of expression (e.g., visual, auditory, written, digital).
Experience teaching adult learners in a online university environment.
A commitment to teaching undergraduate students.
Experience working with adjunct faculty or overseeing adjunct instruction. Ability to collaborate respectfully and equitably with part-time faculty.
A commitment to ongoing professional development in the areas listed above.
Responsibilities:
This non-tenure, 12-month faculty. This position includes teaching and curriculum development in the School of Arts and Sciences. Courses may include art, music, creative expression, interdisciplinary inquiry, and general education offerings in liberal arts. Faculty are expected to develop, teach, and manage courses online, and potentially develop self-paced course content.

Salary:
The salary range for this position is determined by various factors, including experience, and education. The posted Typical Starting UMass Global Academic salary range establishes the minimum pay based on rank at the time of appointment. This ensures that all compensation decisions align with competitive market conditions and the qualifications of the individual, promoting fairness within the organization.
Typical Starting UMass Global Academic salary range: 81,371.95 – 88,551.83
Offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographical location, knowledge, skills, years and depth of experience.
