Alera Group company, is looking for a Regional Compliance Consultant for our Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions. This role will be based out of our Boston, MA office.

Responsibilities
Provide compliance-related services to Alera Group clients, including in-person presentations and consultations to all firms within assigned region or regions
Respond to queries from consultants, clients and plan members with respect to plan provisions and appropriately resolve/escalate any problems or issues
Assist VP of Compliance in determining most critical topics for benefit-related communications, including white papers, flow charts, or newsletter articles
Reviews and oversees creation plug and play employee benefits audit checklists and preparation materials
Upon request, draft and prepare educational materials relating to employee benefit compliance topics, including webinar slides, presentations, and scripts for educational recordings (such as podcasts)
Investigate, analyze, and provide recommendations on benefit and compliance issues for Alera Group clients
Collaborate with the VP of Compliance, Employee Benefits, on plan compliance and regulatory matters impacting benefits
Collaborate and partner with Alera Group staff to ensure consistency and uniformity in materials, responses to questions, and interpretations
Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
Demonstrate effective communication when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibilities and requirements of the job
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate (JD) required
At least 3+ years of experience in employee benefits compliance
Working knowledge of IRS code Sec 125, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and Benefit Plan regulations
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and periodicals
Strong presentation skills, ability to distill large amounts of information into concise messages for clients
Sense of urgency to manage work within tight timeframes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Must be willing to travel to regional offices (20%)
