Title: Sr. Data Analyst-Private Investmens
Location: Boston, MA (or remote on EST timezone)
Duration: 6+ months
Client: Wealth Management firm

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Analysis: Leverage private investment data from various sources (VC, PE, hedge funds, real estate, etc.) to provide actionable insights and support investment decision-making.
Platform Utilization: Work with tools like Markit EDM, S&P EDM, Ilevel, Vidreo, and hedge fund platforms to extract, organize, and analyze data relevant to private investments.
Reporting & Dashboards: Develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and visualizations to track investment performance, risk analysis, and market trends.
Data Governance: Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across all datasets, and develop best practices for data collection and reporting.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including portfolio managers, analysts, and data engineers, to provide insights and enhance data-driven decision-making across the firm.
Advanced Analytical Techniques: Apply statistical models and data analysis techniques to identify trends, forecasts, and key metrics in private investment sectors.
Tool Optimization: Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to data management platforms and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s or MBA) are a plus.
Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably with a focus on private markets such as venture capital, private equity, hedge funds, or real estate investments.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in data platforms such as Markit EDM, S&P EDM, Ilevel, and Vidreo. Experience with hedge fund platforms is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Strong understanding of financial and investment data, including valuation methodologies, performance metrics, and risk models.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to analyze large datasets and provide actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing and analyzing financial data.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a hedge fund, private equity, venture capital, or real estate investment firm.
Familiarity with financial reporting standards and investment performance metrics (IRR, NAV, DPI, etc.).
Familiarity with alternative data sources and financial modeling.
