Job Description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Terminologist with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our healthcare team. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in clinical terminologies to enhance healthcare documentation, improve coding practices, and ensure seamless data interoperability. The ideal candidate will be passionate about standardizing clinical terminology and contributing to the accuracy and consistency of medical data across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship on U.S. soil is required.
- Bachelor's in Science in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in clinical terminology
- Background in ER/ICU nursing
Responsibilities
Clinical Terminology Management: Maintain, update, and manage clinical terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, ICD-10, LOINC, and other coding systems) to ensure accuracy and alignment with current healthcare standards.
Data Mapping & Integration: Support the mapping of clinical data to standardized terminology systems. Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure the integration of terminology standards across electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical databases.
Coding & Classification Support: Ensure the proper use of coding systems by collaborating with healthcare providers, clinical coders, and other stakeholders. Assist in interpreting clinical concepts for correct coding, reporting, and billing.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical data to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. Identify and resolve discrepancies in the usage of clinical terminologies.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with clinical teams, IT, data analytics, and other departments to enhance the understanding and usage of clinical terminologies. Provide expert advice and clarification on terminology-related issues.
Documentation & Reporting: Document terminology changes, data mapping decisions, and updates to ensure clear communication and track progress. Prepare regular reports for leadership on terminology usage, issues, and improvements.
Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest developments in clinical terminology standards and healthcare regulations. Recommend process improvements and assist in the development of new strategies to optimize the use of clinical terminologies.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $63,000 - $126,100 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
