This position is remotely based around East Coast working hours with anticipated travel of 1-2 times a year. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.

As a Lead Software Developer/Product Owner, you will lead the development of the Data Manager product, bringing strong technical skills and a passion for team leadership and product management. In this role, you will take development requests and strategic initiatives and turn them into reality by effectively leveraging your team’s strengths. Your ability to balance hands-on development with big-picture thinking will be essential in driving the product forward and delivering impactful solutions.

Your impact:

Act as the product owner / team lead for a proprietary software product. This includes managing a team and assigning work, leading Agile ceremonies, and mentoring developers.
Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requests, prioritize work, and design effective, scalable solutions to support the growing needs of the organization.
Monitor and maintain key systems while addressing high-priority requests.
Drive development of high-quality code that adheres to best practices in design, testing, and documentation.
Contribute to architectural planning, technical strategy, and prototyping of new features.
Other related duties as assigned.

About you:

7+ years of experience developing in an object-oriented language.
2+ years of team leadership/coaching experience
2+ years of experience leading software projects
Software engineering with object oriented languages. Proficient with Java 8+
Ability to work with MySQL with large data sets
Strong understanding of the full SDLC
Ability to break down complex projects into manageable, assignable pieces
Excellent communication skills - written & spoken
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred: Experience with JIRA/Confluence
Experience with UNIX/Linux a plus
Experience working closely with Data Engineering/DevOps teams a plus
