What the role involves:
As an experienced Communications Manager you’ll report to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, with a dotted-line to the Culture Officer. You’ll be a part of the Culture, Communications and Adoption (CCA) Team, within the Strategy Function of the company. Working closely with key stakeholders, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of timely, relevant and accurate communications that help individuals see their role in our priorities.
- Develop and deliver the communications approach to support our strategic priorities, whether at enterprise, product, or business unit level
- Partner with multiple stakeholders and provide comms counsel on complex and critical projects, prioritising the employee experience, and enhancing and protecting IOG’s reputation
- Provide regular updates on comms progress to key stakeholders, ensuring active participation in alignment meetings to track progress and mitigate issues
- Manage and prioritise communication deliverables to ensure they are completed and distributed within agreed upon timelines and deadlines, while maintaining consistency and quality across all materials.
- Develop informative and engaging comms approaches which optimise our remote-first, tech-led, pioneering matrix environment
- Interlink with key teams including the Strategic Integration Office (SIO), People, Legal and External Comms on building a comprehensive, holistic comms approach
- Deliver content that is aligned with the specific needs of different internal personas, continuously improving audience insights to ensure content resonates with each group’s needs.
- Leverage the internal communications dashboard to measure reach, impact, and engagement towards key communications campaigns and initiatives..
- Maintain a strong focus on risk and issue management while providing support for crisis communications to protect and enhance the brand.
Requirements
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in internal communications, with a strong focus on transformation or change communications
- Proven track record of delivering strategic communications in fast-paced, complex environments—ideally in global, remote-first or tech-led organizations
- Experience working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives
- Strong proficiency with digital communication tools, project management platforms (e.g. Asana, Jira, or similar), and AI technologies such as large language models (LLMs) to support communications workflows
- Demonstrated ability to develop sentiment tracking or measurement mechanisms to evaluate communication impact
- You have solid experience of working on complex communications initiatives, in fast-paced, matrix environments, preferably in global, remote-first organisations
- You’re an experienced internal communicator: able to identify core messages among ever-changing landscapes, and write compelling copy that informs and resonates
- You’re comfortable working with senior stakeholders, providing communications counsel
- You have proven experience in managing multiple priorities, and delivering at high velocity
- You take a proactive and agile approach to problem-solving, capable of adapting to changing priorities and demands
- You frequently utilise LLM’s (large language models) in your work and seek technology-driven solutions to improve speed and efficiency
- You have proficiency in using digital collaboration tools and project management software
