What the role involves:
As a Project Manager on the People Team, you will oversee the planning and delivery of both short- and long-term initiatives that often reach across the organization. They work closely with the project lead to identify team members, define project scope, and clarify deliverables. They also track progress, address obstacles, and manage resources, including budgets while holding team members accountable. Collaboration with other functions, such as Internal Communications and the Strategic Integration Office, is key to ensuring successful outcomes and alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Project Initiation and Planning:
- Define project scope, goals, capacity planning and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, including senior management and HR leadership.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets, assigning tasks to team members and managing resource allocation.
- Progress Monitoring:
- Track project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Regularly communicate project status updates to stakeholders, including senior management, through reports and presentations.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project alignment with business needs and address concerns.
- Post-Project Evaluation:
- Conduct post-project reviews to assess success, identify areas for improvement, and document lessons learned.
- Workflow design and Task Assignment:
- Creating visual representations of workflows using flowcharts, diagrams, and workflow management tools, including defining distinct steps, dependencies between tasks, and decision points.
- Allocating tasks within the workflow to appropriate users or teams based on their roles and responsibilities.
- Identifying and defining the data required for each step of the workflow and ensuring accurate data flow between systems.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance people processes, from onboarding to talent development and performance reviews, by implementing best practices in HR project management
- Support the adoption of HR technology, such as ADP, Lattice, LMS or other talent and performance management tools, ensuring seamless integration with existing workflows and compliance with organizational policies.
Requirements
Who you are:
- Understanding of PI Planning Processes: Leading on the project management of all PI processes within the People Team, reporting back to the company as agreed on progress, blockers and dependencies. Qualified in Agile and/or Scaled Agile project management methodologies with experience of Project Increment planning processes
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management. Ability to manage competing projects at once, often with overlapping resources and dependencies
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify trends to inform project decisions
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey project information to various stakeholders
- Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
- Change management expertise to drive adoption of new HR initiatives.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with HR information systems (ADP) and project management tools (Jira and Asana)
- A bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience (usually 3–5 years) in project management, preferably within HR or a people-centric function.
- Familiarity with standard PM methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Jira, Asana, Miro).
- Strong communication, budgeting, and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope.
