 Project Manager

 

COPE Health Solutions is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, coordination, and delivery efforts across multiple agile teams building web-based healthcare applications. This role requires a balance of agile project leadership and compliance focus, especially driving initiatives related to regulatory and security certifications such as HiTrust. You’ll work closely with engineers, QA, product, compliance, and leadership to keep projects moving forward, unblock teams, and ensure we meet both delivery and certification milestones. This is a hands-on, high-impact role in a fast-moving, mission-driven organization.

Position Description:

  • Coordinate and facilitate agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) across one or more engineering teams.
  • Own the project delivery lifecycle, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality are met across product and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain visibility of project status through clear documentation, reporting, and risk management.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and product managers to define and prioritize work aligned with business goals.
  • Track and manage cross-functional dependencies and communicate changes proactively.
  • Drive execution and coordination of certification and audit processes, especially HiTrust, in collaboration with security, DevOps, and compliance teams.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, tracking progress of control implementation and evidence collection for compliance efforts.
  • Support and manage documentation for internal processes and policy alignment related to certification frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Champion continuous improvement and promote best practices in agile delivery and project governance.
  • Work with the Engineering Manager to report on KPIs for the engineering organization.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, informatics, management information systems or STEM discipline strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master working with agile software teams.
  • Proven experience delivering projects in a highly regulated industry such as healthcare, finance, or government.
  • Familiarity with one or more certification frameworks such as HiTrust, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST.
  • Experience working in agile environments (Scrum or Kanban), ideally with distributed or remote teams.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple parallel efforts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — both technical and non-technical.
  • Comfortable working with technical documentation, compliance evidence, and cross-department coordination

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (preferably Azure).
  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR, X12).
  • Exposure to identity and access management (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO).
  • Experience mentoring or line-managing other engineers.
  • Hand on experience leveraging AI tools to improve efficiencies in the engineering process.
  • Experience with .Net APIs a definite advantage.
