The Business Analyst (Applications) plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between the business area and IT developers. The BA is responsible for gathering and analyzing contract plan requirements, working closely with business stakeholders, and partnering with developers to implement these requirements within our systems using SQL queries and Health Solutions Plus (HSP). The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and software developers to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful deployment and maintenance of business applications.

Job Summary Details:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and gather detailed requirements for application development or enhancement.
  • Analyze business processes related to health insurance plans, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to optimize efficiency. 
  • Work with IT developers to translate business requirements into system configurations using Health Solutions Plus (HSP).
  • Utilize SQL to extract, analyze, and manage data related to health insurance plans, ensuring accurate implementation and reporting.
  • Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment of objectives.
  • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and validation to ensure the application meets the specified requirements.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of business requirements, process changes, and system configurations.
  • Provide training and support to business users on new system functionalities and updates.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements and system improvements, ensuring the health insurance plans are efficiently managed within the system.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in business Analyst experience, preferably with a focus on software applications.
  • Candidates should be prepared to complete an assessment as part of the application process.
  • This position requires Healthcare and/or Dental experience 

 

Specific Skills/Knowledge

  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Health Solutions Plus (HSP) or similar health plan administration systems preferred but not required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both business and technical teams. 
  • Understanding of health insurance regulations, policies, and plan structures.
  • Experience in system implementation and configuration is highly desirable.
  • Preference will be given to those located in the PST time zone, or candidates must have the flexibility to work PST hours as needed if selected.

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, the base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000, not including fringe benefits or potential bonuses. At Liberty, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We are committed to pay equity and also consider the internal equity of our current team members when making final compensation decisions.

 

Please note that the range listed represents the full base salary range for this role. Typically, offers are not made at the top of the range to allow for future salary growth.
