Detailed Job Description:

The Department of Information Technology, Patient Technical Support Associate is responsible for assisting patients with access to their OSU Wexner Medical Center patient portal accounts. Associate functions that are provided include, but are not limited to, providing patient information regarding the patient portal application, forwarding calls, providing excellent customer service, placing trouble tickets when needed and activating and resetting passwords for patients. This position is a remote position. Services provided by the IT Patient Portal Support team are between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Position Summary

The Patient Technical Support Associate serves as point person on the phone for all patient portal support needs while also ensuring the protection on patient information.

Minimum Education Required Per CCS Class Specs:

One year experience (1000 hours course work or training) in customer service or communications, including analyzing & interpreting information; 6 mos. experience (600 hours training) in operation of computer and related peripheral equipment; 3 mos. experience (300 hrs course work) in information research & analysis. Additional Qualifications: Some positions require 3 mos. exp. (300 hrs course work) in supervision management; 3 mos. experience (300 hours course work) in interviewing. Ability to proficiently use a personal computer and applicable software is required. Evidence of effective interpersonal communication skills, telephone skills, customer service skills and the ability to deal with multiple priorities is desired.
