Business Optimization & Solutions Department

The Business Optimization team manages the processes that are used across Vantage.  Through the Gating Framework, the team works closely with stakeholders to standardize processes and systems globally to ensure consistent customer experience across the organization.  From NSD to the delivery of data centers, and beyond Operations to the sale of the Data Center.  The vision is always the same, standardization and continuous improvement. The Business Optimization team handles process validation, improvement, and standardization. They focus on increasing efficiency, adding a governance structure to processes, and implementing a gating framework to ensure robust quality control and systematic execution throughout the organization.

Position Overview

This role can be based remotely in the US.

Vantage is looking for a meticulous, hands-on Process Development Engineer to support the team with standardization and improvement projects and programs. You will join the team This position will report to the Business Optimization and Solutions Director who manages the overall team and department.  The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders, globally, across the gating framework.  Responsibilities include process mapping, workflow mapping, analysis on deviations for processes across Vantage Data Centers, globally.  Tasks will include optimizing existing processes by working with the business towards shared goals of efficiency, process mapping, and compliance with governance.  This role is crucial for obtaining baseline data on processes and will contribute to standardization and cost savings initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Speak with internal stakeholders regarding their processes and the approvals they are required to get throughout the gating framework.

  • Maintain and develop company processes, procedures, and best practices

  • Process mapping, workflow mapping, analysis on deviations for processes across the company

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to catalog business process, pain point, risks for the processes Vantage uses

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders on process standards

  • Maintain and develop company processes and procedures around our internal process development database to guide future process improvement decisions.

  • Prepare independent internal process maps and process improvement plans from conceptual ideas and plans to detail process documentation.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to surface process and schedule risk associated with perspective projects.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders on process improvement and process mapping across North American markets.

  • Review complex process improvement proposals for new projects, assisting local project teams with evaluating cost, scope, and schedule impacts of proposals.

  • Ensure all project work scope has been included in the process improvement plans; verify all scope, durations, and assumptions included in each plan and support the authorization and release of internal budgets and estimates.

  • Research new process improvement techniques and develop process roadmaps to ensure competitive pricing related to sustainability, business process design, and other Vantage initiatives.

  • Work with vertical peers focusing on continuous improvement to our business processes.

  • Analyze process documentation, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare/review/comment on time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.

  • Review process take-off as a separate validation of contractor pricing in a manner and level of detail consistent with the project goals.

  • Review and implement lessons learned to ensure process improvement data is accurate and competitive.

  • Understand and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and partners.

  • Additional duties as assigned by Management.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using process improvement software.

  • Experience preparing/reviewing contingency evaluation, durations, escalation, reconciliations for process improvement plans.

  • Ability to interpret process maps, process documentation, sketches, and specifications.

  • Familiarity with process improvement tools and software.

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office software tools, such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word, to be utilized in managing and reporting process improvement throughput, status, and labor allocation.

  • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Process Mapping Experience, Workflow Experience, Project Management Experience

  • Lean Sigma Six Certification or PCQ certification

  • 8 years of related experience

  • Experience process workflow, governance, process mapping experience

  • Process Standardization

  • Process governance

  • Process and workflow experience with systems and tools such as ServiceNow and SalesForce

  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Office software tools, such as MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word, to be utilized in managing and reporting estimate throughput, status, and labor allocation

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20% but may increase over time as the business evolves.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $135,000-$150,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
