In this critical role, you will be responsible for building solutions that help Smartsheet security in detection engineering, identifying telemetry gaps and bridging those gaps by collaborating with various stakeholders within Smartsheet. You will perform the role of a strategic thinker and have the operational gravitas to be part of Dev SecOps function to orchestrate world-class detection and response program.

You Will: 

  • Work as an entry level security analyst, triaging security events and incidents
  • Assist in developing security automation workflows to enhance detection and response capabilities, leveraging scripting and security tools to reduce manual processes. 
  • Support the integration of security automation tools by configuring playbooks, tuning alerts, and collaborating with senior analysts to improve operational efficiency.
  • Assist in monitoring security systems and reviewing alerts to identify potential threats.
  • Support the detection and response team by analyzing security incidents and contributing to incident response efforts.
  • Collaborate with senior security analysts to bridge telemetry gaps and improve our detection capabilities.
  • Help maintain endpoint protection measures and collaborate with various teams to ensure security best practices are followed.
  • Contribute to security audits to ensure compliance with corporate policies and industry standards.
  • Continuously learn and apply industry-standard frameworks such as NIST and MITRE ATT&CK to improve our security posture.

You Have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or a related field (nice to have).
  • Strong interest in cyber security and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Foundational understanding of security principles, including threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with common security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Smartsheet provides a competitive base salary range for roles that may be hired in different geographic areas we are licensed to operate our business from. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, level of professional, educational experience, skills, and specific candidate location. In addition, this role will be eligible for a market competitive incentive opportunity.

US Base Salary Pay Range
$105,000$135,000 USD
