Purpose
The Recreation Coordinator is a part time position (scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week) that will lead the planning, administration, promotion and growth of entry-level and recreational tennis in Connecticut. This will include overseeing the Tennis in the Parks program in Connecticut, a turn-key program that USTA New England delivers in partnership with park & recreation departments and community serving organizations. USTA New England hires coaches to deliver the program, which is customer-focused, affordable, accessible, and fun introductory tennis for youth and adults. The Recreation Coordinator for Connecticut will also increase access and engagement to tennis across the state through growth of tennis in schools, social match play for youth and adults, and public facility advocacy efforts. This role focuses on building relationships with community stakeholders to promote and expand programming on public courts. The job will include, but is not limited, to the following responsibilities.
This is a remote part-time non-exempt position scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week with occasional in-person attendance required for events such as section programming, all-staff meetings, trainings, etc. If you are community-minded, organized and passionate about recreational sports, this role is for you!
