We're looking for someone to join our team as an EDI Analyst III who:
The EDI Analyst III at Clinica Sierra Vista serves as a technical expert for enterprise-level Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) initiatives. This role is responsible for designing scalable, secure, and standards-compliant data integration solutions across clinical, revenue cycle, administrative, and third-party systems. The Analyst III acts as a thought leader for interoperability strategy, mentors junior staff, leads high-impact projects, and ensures compliance with federal and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Epic interfaces, strong architectural insight, and a deep understanding of healthcare data exchange frameworks.
Essential Functions:
• Architect, lead, and manage complex EDI integration projects, including cross-organizational and multi-system initiatives.
• Oversee end-to-end implementation and governance of HL7, X12, FHIR, and API-based integrations across the enterprise.
• Serve as subject matter expert on interoperability standards, federal mandates (e.g., TEFCA, Cures Act), and Epic’s ecosystem.
• Collaborate with executives, clinical leadership, and IT leadership to align integration strategies with organizational goals.
• Develop integration roadmaps and best practices for new technologies, applications, and business units.
• Lead data initiatives related to EDI and interface data quality, validation, and compliance.
• Oversee interface security, access controls, data flow documentation, and compliance monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts across the EDI function, including performance optimization and automation.
• Mentor and train junior analysts (EDI Analyst I/II) and provide technical leadership within the integration team.
• Evaluate and select interface tools, vendors, and integration platforms in coordination with IT leadership.
• Participate in external collaborations, working groups, or regulatory forums focused on healthcare interoperability.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7+ years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare EDI, with leadership in complex integration environments.
• Mastery of healthcare data standards, including HL7 v2/v3, X12 (270/271, 837, 835, 278), FHIR, CDA, and IHE profiles.
• Advanced experience with Epic Bridges, Chronicles data structures, and related integration tools.
• Proficiency in Corepoint, Rhapsody, or comparable interface engines.
• Strong understanding of clinical, financial, and operational workflows within EHR systems.
• Expertise in RESTful APIs, OAuth2, and cloud-based integration technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory compliance (HIPAA, HITECH, Cures Act) and data privacy/security frameworks.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to lead projects, interface lifecycles, and vendor relationships.
