About Strategic Benefit Resources: Strategic Benefit Resources is a leading Stop Loss consulting firm specializing in innovative stop-loss insurance solutions for self-funded employers, TPAs, and brokers. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Program Analyst to join our team and support us in leveraging market intelligence, developing tailored stop-loss solutions, and managing insurance programs effectively.
Primary Role
Generate revenue through the sales of Employee Benefits insurance products. Sales-focused position requiring advanced communication skills and a thorough knowledge of insurance products. Capable of pursuing and closing sales for new and existing Employee Benefits accounts.
Job Functions:
Achieve objectives established in annual producer sales plan.
Prospect new business primarily by phone, mail, referral or other marketing and lead generation techniques for identified target groups in accordance with agency guidelines.
Follow up on referrals provided by agency team within designated time frame.
Develop and convey formal proposals of insurance including details of coverages, limits, deductibles and other pertinent information.
Submit, rate, quote and place quality new business in accordance with agency and company appetites.
Negotiate coverage and pricing to provide the best value to the client.
Communicate effectively with customers, agency and company personnel.
Provide complete and accurate underwriting information to agency and company personnel.
Conduct client and prospect appointments to assess insurance needs, communicate proposals and renewals, provide coverage and pricing options, explain details and desire to conduct business.
Introduce Account Executive and Account Manager roles to clients and involve them as a valued member of the agency team.
Support sales efforts through a mutual referral network to cross sell qualifying business.
Adhere to agency standards for workflows, procedures and utilization of the agency management system to maintain client documentation and reduce agency exposure to Errors and Omissions and all HIPAA compliance guidelines.
Comply with all regulatory requirements regarding licensing, sales and service for Employee Benefits business.
Work effectively as a member of a production team in coordination with management and customer service representatives to achieve agency goals. Provide outstanding service in a professional and courteous manner.
Complete and maintain required reports and attend all sales and Employee Benefits meetings as required.
Keep informed of industry developments through review of trade press, attending carrier training meetings, and continuing education.
Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by agency management.
Knowledge and Skills:
Extensive working knowledge of industry legislative and compliance issues
Experience managing alternative funding arrangements, self-insured benefit plans, Taft-Hartley Trust, Tribal or other specialized business expertise
Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills required
Exceptional abstract reasoning and analytical abilities
Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in stressful situations
Skilled at balancing tight timelines and competing priorities while maintaining a customer-focused positive attitude
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite - specifically Word, Excel & PowerPoint
Project Management experience a plus
Experience managing confidential information (HIPAA)
Pleasant ‘can-do’ customer service attitude
High level of personal initiative, integrity and professional ethics
Ability to work respectfully with diverse populations both internally and externally
Commitment to on-going professional continuing education
Experience and Education
Prior sales experience preferred, but not necessary
Ability to satisfy the needs of the customer, both internal and external.
Strong sales, negotiation, and decision making skills.
Excellent leadership ability.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively with agency team, company staff, prospects and customers.
Willingness to learn and perform new duties and responsibilities.
College Degree, or equivalent job experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience working with Employee Benefits Programs in a brokerage or equivalent setting
Applicable state life and health license (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
Maintain professional designation(s) (RHU, REBC, CEBS, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
Other Requirements:
Day and overnight travel may be required
Dependable personal transportation
Valid/Current driver’s license and proof of insurance
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
