About the role...

The Sr. Manager, Tuition Revenue Management, Afloat position will be responsible for the achievement of Net Program Revenue goals to support operations. This role will establish program tuition (sell prices) that provides excellent value to participants and meets margin targets. Will manage inventory to maximize fill/utilization rates and load factor gains and ensure program marketing is aligned, and be responsible for contract review and other analysis to monitor risks and opportunities and formulate actions. The Sr. Manager will also be responsible for analysis and reporting to support decision making related to Net Program Revenue throughout the entire product cycle; planning, pricing, operations/enrollment and post departure. The Sr. Manager will also support the AVP, TRM with cruise line program strategy and annual capacity planning in collaboration with the Contracting and Program teams.

Road Scholar offers a remote work environment. The compensation range for this exempt level salaried position is $75,000 - $90,000 based on experience. 

In this role, you will...

  • Responsible for timely finalization of program pricing and ensure price is aligned with targets.  All Afloat pricing will be assessed by cabin category and in total. Analyze and understand year over year cost of goods changes that impact NPR. Leverage exception reporting to monitor need for price adjustments
  • Monitor Inventory and take action to maximize Fill/Utilization Rates and Load Factor gains. Lead the effort to analyze and assess risks and opportunities related to all Afloat programs, but most importantly full ship charters. Support with cabin allotment activity as needed.
  • Work with marketing to ensure sufficient promotions are planned and appropriate positioning to achieve enrollment goals. Determine program and departure selection for all campaigns.
  • Review and assessment of cruise line contracts proposed by the contracting team including YOY cost analysis. Ensure rates and terms are acceptable and minimize risk to Road Scholar.
  • In collaboration with the Program and Contracting teams support the AVP, TRM with Afloat program strategy and capacity planning. This includes assessment of new cruise line opportunities, deployment review and establishing annual capacity needed to support organizational goals. Establish schedules and timelines for program submissions and work with teams to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Develop ad-hoc reporting and participate in special project teams as needed to support organizational initiatives.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Analytical discipline required.

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills and ability to drive high performance.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; MicroStrategy or other data warehouse analytical tool; Zoom skills.
  • Experience gathering, manipulating and analysis of large data sets.
  • Attention to detail; strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills working across multiple levels and departments.
