This role ensures our vehicles are accurately described, competitively priced, and aligned with current market conditions by applying structured valuation methods, market intelligence, and operational oversight.
Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, the Lead Analyst drives real-time pricing decisions, interprets condition reports, and applies deep cost-to-market insight to optimize offer strength and sale conversion. This role manages valuation escalations, performs root-cause analysis, and collaborates across Field, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to refine tools and pricing outcomes. As a senior operational leader, the Lead Analyst mentors other valuation analysts, supports strategic pricing initiatives, and stewards the consistency, defensibility, and financial impact of wholesale pricing across a dynamic, high-volume inventory pipeline.
Decision Support is the operational insights arm of Manheim Digital, providing data science, pricing intelligence, process optimization, and analytics infrastructure to drive conversion and profitability across CAI products and services. As part of the Digital group, Wholesale Valuation Operations plays a key role in enabling scalable, accurate, and defensible pricing across wholesale disposal units flowing from dealers into our Manheim auctions.
Primary Duties & Key Responsibilities
Strategic Oversight & Valuation Integrity

- Serve as valuation authority within the Upside offer pipeline, executing strategic adjustments that balance dealer retention, marketplace competitiveness, and margin performance.
- Leverage real-time data on conversion, metal margin, valuation deltas, and partner behavior to inform long-range pricing strategy and optimization efforts.
- Establish consistent pricing standards and offer strategies across new and used wholesale inventory, ensuring defensible, data-informed decisions that align with risk and revenue targets.
Operational Pricing Execution
- Own end-to-end execution of Upside offers across all sourcing paths, including vehicles automatically priced via Autopricer, units fed through KBB Instant Cash Offer integrations, and vehicles manually surfaced through vAuto Provision.
- Evaluate and adjust automated and partner-originated offers within the Upside Hub to ensure alignment with true vehicle value, reconditioning risk, and market conditions.
- Independently generate manual offers for wholesale-eligible inventory using vAuto Provision insights, proactively surfacing vehicles and ensuring offer strength and profitability.
- Oversee Sale Day operations by auditing auction listings for pricing accuracy, condition alignment, and data integrity, intervening as necessary to maintain listing standards and operational trust.
- Monitor systemic pricing trends and issues using Salesforce, Tableau, Excel, and internal pricing tools to flag breakdowns, document valuation decisions, and execute tactical improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Data Alignment
- Collaborate with Performance Managers to evaluate dealer offer objections, assess offer competitiveness, and support resolution strategies that maintain trust and platform value.
- Partner with Data Science, Engineering, and Product to evolve Autopricer logic, flag valuation exceptions, and improve tooling reliability at scale.
- Serve as a liaison to Field Operations, Inventory Ops, and internal analytics teams, ensuring alignment between valuation logic and on-the-ground execution.
- Provide frontline insights into pricing performance and dealer response, contributing to iterative refinement of workflow tools and operational models.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide peer mentoring, escalation guidance, and daily oversight to Vehicle Valuation Analysts, ensuring valuation consistency, turnaround efficiency, and execution quality.
- Lead training efforts on pricing behaviors, partner interactions, and evolving valuation practices, driving up decision fluency across the team.
- Support analyst onboarding, tool orientation, and knowledge transfer to maintain team scalability and skill coverage.
