Join Ferguson’s business intelligence and automation team and help transform how we automate processes and deliver data-driven insights across the enterprise. While this role carries the title of Senior Power BI Developer, it is heavily focused on building automation solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate, coupled with the ability to deliver impactful reporting through Power BI.
We are looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, thinks creatively and critically, and can solve problems with minimal direction. This is a highly collaborative role that requires excellent project management skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities, and the confidence to engage with both teammates and partners across all levels of the business.
Location:
This role is approved to be fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States. Ability to work East Coast hours as needed.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and deploy Power Apps (both Canvas and Model-Driven) to automate business workflows and drive efficiency.
Create and maintain sophisticated Power Automate flows that reduce manual work, enhance data movement, and connect business systems.
Develop, publish, and optimize sophisticated interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that turn data into actionable insights.
Lead the integration of multiple data sources from Azure Synapse, Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL, and APIs to power automation and reporting solutions.
Collaborate with partners to gather and understand business needs, often working through ambiguity to define and deliver the right solution.
Apply creative problem-solving to complex technical and business challenges.
Serve as a key partner in business analysis activities to translate needs into technical designs.
Proactively find opportunities for automation and process improvement across the business.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and contribute to team growth.
Lead project timelines, priorities, and deliverables with minimal oversight, ensuring projects stay on track and aligned with business goals.
Facilitate conversations between technical teams and business partners, bridging gaps and ensuring alignment.
Apply Lean thinking principles to eliminate inefficiencies and streamline processes.
Solve and performance-tune Power BI reports, Power Apps solutions, and Power Automate flows.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience preferred.
6+ years of experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and scorecards with expert knowledge of DAX and SQL.
4+ years of experience building custom solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate with demonstrated success in automating complex business processes.
Solid experience integrating Dataverse, SharePoint, Azure, and external APIs.
Ability to think both critically and creatively, with a proven track record of solving problems independently.
Solid project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and balance multiple concurrent projects.
Comfortable working through ambiguity and figuring out solutions with minimal instruction.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with both technical teams and non-technical partners.
Experience with Python for automation or data manipulation is a plus.
Experience with Visual Studio C# would be useful, although not necessary.
Familiarity with Lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
Highly organized, meticulous, and self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning.

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
