Job Description

THE POSITION:

The Senior ServiceNow Developer is the technology subject-matter expert responsible for the analysis, design, configuration, and implementation of software development projects within ServiceNow ITSM and CSM. Works on multiple projects and development efforts and provides technical and architectural guidance on complex initiatives.  In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and efficient solutions while ensuring adherence to technical standards and best practices.  The candidate should have at least 7 - 10 years of hands-on ServiceNow programming experience. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and robust software solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
  • Design, create, and maintain process/workflow and operational reports and dashboards using Platform and Performance Analytics, Process Mining, KPIs, and Control Metrics.
  • Perform the necessary tasks to design and configure ServiceNow functions to meet operational needs
  • Develop Interactive Dashboards, Widgets, Workspaces.
  • Create and configure integrations between ServiceNow and third-party applications (e.g. MS Teams).
  • Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
  • Research, analyze, design, develop and support high-quality automation workflows inside and outside the ITSM platform that are appropriate for business and technology strategies.
  • Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of story requirements.
  • Perform proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
  • Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance), analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias. 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Licenses/Certificates ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • ITIL Foundations certified
  • Experience and/or Training
  • Expert knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM applications with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role.
  • 8+ years of experience working as a ServiceNow Developer
  • 5+ years of experience working in the CSM module of ServiceNow
  • Experience managing integrations in ServiceNow using ServiceNow table APIs, scripted Web Services, custom REST APIs, Integration Hub spokes
  • Expertise in ServiceNow development, JavaScript, Angular JS or React JS
  • Expertise in ServiceNow Flow Designer
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns, architecture, and principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong documentation skills and experience in technical writing
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solving: Strong analytical skills and detail orientation to identify issues and develop effective solutions, while considering the broader impact on the organization
  • Education (i.e. degree required)
  •  (i.e. the kind of skills and knowledge and number of years required)
  • Technology/Equipment Windows computer operation and/or MAC computer operation

  • Licenses/Certificates ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – Customer Service Management
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management
  • Experience and/or Training
  • Experience with complex and global projects
  • Experience with full-stack development, including front-end (e.g., React, Angular) and back-end Java Script technologies
  • Proficiency with API development (SOAP OR REST)
  • A mindset of ongoing learning and improvement, staying updated with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies
