Senior Video & Motion Editor

Job Summary

Job Description

We are Australia's leading telecommunications and technology company. And with a global presence in more than 22 countries, we have a strong global footprint. Our purpose is to build a connected future so everyone can thrive. We are all about providing the best experience and delivering the best tech on the best network. This includes making Telstra the place you want to work.

About the role

Telstra’s in-house creative agency is on a mission to deliver world-class creative that connects, engages and inspires across all customer engagement platforms. We are looking for a Senior Video & Motion Editor who can take ownership of the end-to-end video content production - from ideation and creative development to editing and final output.

This role is not just about cutting video - it’s about crafting compelling visual stories that elevate Telstra’s brand. You will be responsible for editing long-form content into short-form formats, producing high-impact brand reels, buzz reels and sizzle reels, as well as delivering social-first and digital-first video content that resonates with audiences.

The ideal candidate is a highly capable, self-sufficient creative who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle producing, editing and outputting content seamlessly, without needing extensive oversight.

Key Responsibilities

In your role as a Senior Video & Motion Editor you will deliver high-quality, engaging video content optimised for digital channels, edit long-form videos into concise, powerful short-form content, and create dynamic brand and campaign reels. You will also maintain efficient workflows, ensure brand consistency, and elevate Telstra’s creative capabilities through innovative motion design and storytelling.

Your core responsibilities:

Video Editing & Motion Design

  • Edit social-first and digital-first videos that are optimized for platform-specific performance as part of integrated campaigns.
  • Transform long-form content into high-impact short-form edits for social, CRM and web channels.
  • Create high-energy, visually compelling brand reels, sizzle reels and promotional content that showcase Telstra’s brand story.
  • Apply advanced motion graphics techniques, visual effects and branding elements to our video content.
  • Execute high-quality colour correction, grading, sound design and finishing to enhance video impact.
  • Ensure fast turnaround times without compromising on quality or creativity.

Creative Execution & Brand Storytelling

  • Craft compelling visual narratives that align with Telstra’s brand messaging.
  • Collaborate with creative teams (copy & design) to develop storyboards, video concepts and motion strategies for integrated campaigns.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of brand voice and storytelling techniques across digital platforms.
  • Bring your platform expertise to craft executions that drive engagement in specific customer channels.

Production & Workflow Efficiency

  • Take full ownership of motion projects, ensuring seamless execution from production to final delivery.
  • Set up and manage video shoots when required, directing lighting, sound and directing talent, in collaboration with production teams.
  • Optimize file management, rendering processes and version control for efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure content is delivered on time and meets quality standards.
  • Act as brand guardian, who is responsible for all creative motion work, while ensuring outputs meet Telstra’s brand guidelines and strategic objectives.

Technical Expertise & Innovation

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in video editing, motion graphics and platform algorithms.
  • Experiment with new tools, AI-driven editing techniques and immersive formats to push creative boundaries.
  • Ensure all content is optimized for various platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, CRM and digital ads.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 7+ years of experience in video editing, motion graphics and digital-first content creation, preferably in an in-house agency or production studio.
  • A strong portfolio, demonstrating expertise in social-first and digital-first content, long-to-short form video editing and motion graphics.
  • Deep understanding of storytelling, pacing and visual composition for different platforms.
  • Proven ability to execute projects end-to-end, from concept to production, editing and final output.
  • Experienced and comfortable working on brand reels, promotional videos, sizzle reels and short-form social content.
  • Experience optimizing video content for performance-driven marketing across paid and organic media.

This Senior Video & Motion Editor role is a pivotal opportunity to shape Telstra’s creative video output, driving engagement through social-first, digital-first and high-energy brand storytelling. If you have a strong eye for visual storytelling, the technical expertise to execute at a high level and the ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish, we’d love to hear from you.

If this opportunity sounds like a perfect fit for you, we'd encourage you to apply!

We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce in all its forms. We encourage applicants from diverse gender, cultural and linguistic backgrounds and applicants who may be living with a disability. We also offer flexibility in all our roles, to ensure everyone can participate.
