Senior Engineer – Data, AI, and User Experience for Lab Operations Optimization

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the development of AI-driven lab workflow solutions, enhancing efficiency, automation, and user experience in high-throughput lab environments. This role focuses on AI-powered task list generation, intuitive workflow guidance, and intelligent decision support systems to improve lab operations.

As part of our Engineering Team, you will work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Lab Stakeholders to design and implement AI-driven applications, interactive user interfaces, and automation tools that simplify complex lab workflows. Your contributions will help optimize lab operations with cutting-edge technology.

Primary Responsibilities

AI & Intelligent Workflow Optimization:

Develop AI-powered task list generation systems to streamline lab processes.

Design automated workflow guidance tools to help lab personnel navigate complex procedures efficiently.

Implement AI-driven decision support systems for lab operations optimization.

Utilize AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, and other AI/ML services to build intelligent automation solutions.

Software Engineering & User Experience:

Design and implement full-stack applications that improve lab user experience.

Build intuitive UI/UX solutions that integrate real-time workflow updates, task prioritization, and smart recommendations.

Develop interactive dashboards and automation tools for lab personnel.

Work on backend services and front-end applications for lab operations enhancement.

Cloud & Infrastructure Optimization

Architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective AI-driven solutions using AWS services (Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, Glue, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, etc.).

Implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code for rapid AI model deployment.

Optimize system performance and conduct root-cause analysis for lab workflow improvements.

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

Work closely with lab personnel, product managers, and software engineers to define requirements and optimize user experience.

Apply human-centered design principles to enhance task management and workflow automation.

Stay updated on emerging AI, user experience, and automation trends to drive continuous innovation.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

8+ years of experience in software development, AI-driven solutions, and UX optimization.

Expertise in Python, and front-end frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).

Experience developing AI models and automation workflows using AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, and AI/ML frameworks

Strong background in task management systems, workflow automation, and real-time user guidance.

Experience with AWS cloud platforms and services (Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, S3, etc.).

Strong problem-solving skills and a user-focused approach to software development.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience with custom LIMS/LES systems for lab operations.

Hands-on experience in natural language processing (NLP) and intelligent assistant development.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance and security standards in healthcare and life sciences.
