MORI is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide support of data and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, analytics, and visualization for the Office of the Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAIO) in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries,  to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. JOB DESCRIPTION / FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will include but not be limited to the following efforts:
  • Facilitate the collection and aggregation of data management tool business and functional requirements to inform capability roadmap planning.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data management practices and standards.
  • Configure valuable data visualization and analytics dashboards.
  • Support the development of mechanisms (dashboards, communications plans, GitHub etc.) for communicating AI Successes, lessons learned and performance metrics.
  • Provide data visualizations and metrics to report on progress toward achieving NASA’s goals, objectives, and milestones documented in data and AI strategy, compliance, and implementation plans.
  • Provide user management: account provisioning and decommissioning, user feedback, and user support to onboard/offboard new users and troubleshoot issues for data and AI tools managed by CDO/CAIO.
  • Organize testing activities and facilitate testing with stakeholders to ensure tools and capabilities satisfy requirements.
  • Evaluate generative AI capabilities to understand their effectiveness.
  • Develop measurement frameworks that evaluate the business value created from the use of GenAI tools.
  • Identify GenAI use-cases that support common needs or organization-specific business requirements.
  • Evaluate AI models for vulnerabilities, e.g., adversarial attacks, model drift, data poisoning, bias, hallucinations, prompt injection, and privacy leaks.
  • Support functional AI evaluation activities that identify unintended behaviors and reliability issues and document findings and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop a data and AI capabilities roadmap to define future goals and allow for planning and phased integration of data and AI capabilities.
  • Develop procedures for and complete an annual dataset inventory, ensuring the NASA data catalog is updated and data sets are described with descriptive metadata.
  • Develop procedures for and complete an annual AI use-case inventory, capturing required attributes to enable required reporting and inform effective planning and decision making as part of NASA’s AI governance.
  • Develop and coordinate the draft annual Evidence Act report to Congress.
EDUCATION AND PREVIOUS WORK REQUIREMENTS:

BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering or related field and 15 years relevant experience in Systems Engineering / Multimedia Engineering.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

Minimum Requirements:
•    A deep understanding of multimedia systems, including audio, video, and graphics components, is essential.
•    Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Java, and Python.
•    Design, develop, and implement multimedia systems and solutions for various platforms.
•    Collaborate with content creators, designers, and other engineers to integrate multimedia elements into projects.
•    Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to multimedia hardware and software.
•    Knowledge of multimedia editing and authoring tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc.
•    Experience with quality assurance testing and performance analysis.
•    Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
•    Understanding of network protocols and their application in multimedia systems.
•    Ability to conduct research and integrate new technologies.
•    Knowledge of security measures for multimedia systems and content protection.
•    Experience in project planning and management.

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Proficient in M365.
•    Microsoft SharePoint.
•    MS Purview.
•    Collibra, Informatica, etc.
•    Strategy Management.
•    Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
•    ITIL Certification (desired, not required).
•    CompTIA Server+.
•    Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
•    Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Compensation Range: $135K to $150K

This is a remote position.
