Cambridge International Systems, Inc., has a full-time VM Ware Systems Engineer remote opportunity based in Quantico, VA. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance preferred.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
Designs, plans, and implements Server/Virtualized architecture.
Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network and server systems.
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of general networking, server and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as, firewalls, hypervisors, software automation tools and cloud/virtualization platform services. etc.
Assist with documentation as needed (Contract Deliverables, Key Supporting Documents, etc.)
Provide inputs to Daily, Weekly, and/or Monthly Status Reports.
Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Performs other related duties, as required.
Required QUALIFICATIONS
Security +
VMware: Deployment, management, and maintenance of virtual environments.
In depth knowledge of Windows and RHEL operating systems.
Sys Admin Experience: Active Directory, GPO, STIG, Microsoft Exchange, DNS
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
VCP-DCV (VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization).
AWS/Microsoft Azure experience.
Education and experience
Minimum six (6) years of experience in relevant technical field, to include: Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Support, Test and Evaluation, and Logistics support of C5ISR requirements.
Three (3) years of technical experience in support of task specific project. Note: Experience may be concurrent.
Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise.
Develops technical solutions to complex problems.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up 50%. In some occasions, overnight travel may be required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
