Job description

O.E.I (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD is currently seeking a GIS Technician to work remotely and be available for occasional travel as needed. This GIS Technician role will report directly to a GIS Lead or GIS Project Manager within the Technology and Innovation Department (TIN Group). We are focused on candidates who have GIS experience in energy and utilities.

In addition to technical GIS skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Responsibilities Include:

Utilize ArcGIS Pro to create high-quality maps for various projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project requirements.
Take direction on performing geospatial analysis to support project objectives, including spatial data manipulation, aggregation of datasets, overlay analysis, and site suitability modeling.
Manage geospatial data, including data acquisition, processing, conversion, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
Collaborate with project teams to understand mapping requirements and provide technical support and expertise.
Assist in the development and maintenance of GIS databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Stay current with advancements in GIS technology and best practices and recommend innovative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Write process documentation on new workflows.

Minimum Requirements:

A certificate or higher in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Math, Geology, Computer Science or Information Technology.
1-3 years of experience working as a GIS Technician, with a focus on map production using ArcGIS Pro.
Strong understanding of cartographic principles and design aesthetics.
Experience with spatial analysis techniques and tools, such as geoprocessing, raster analysis, and network analysis.
Solid grasp of GIS data management concepts, including data formats, coordinate systems, and metadata standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrates leadership and can teach others GIS and other technical skills.
Experience working in industries such as oil and gas, renewable energy, heavy industrial, rail, environmental management, or natural resource conservation.
Familiarity with Python scripting for geospatial automation and customization.
Knowledge of web GIS technologies (e.g., ArcGIS Online)
