Electrical Inspector - General Electrical, Remote, Central Southern USA

What are we looking for?

The Electrical Inspector position is responsible for performing field inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards, issuing reports, and communicating with clients. This position will travel at least 75% of the time.

Location: Remote, within driving distance to a major airport and ability to travel 75% as needed, including air, overnight travel and occasional travel internationally, as needed.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is $45 - $55 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

What You’ll Do

Perform inspections of electrical systems on systems as required by applicable NFPA and UL standards.

Complete reports summarizing the inspection work completed onsite.

Make judgments regarding compliance in terms of applicable standards.

Communicate and coordinate with clients while planning visits to work locations.

Perform Other Work As Required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

5+ years of experience in the construction or electrical trades.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

Ability to work independently to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to adhere to site PPE requirements and work safely on an active construction site.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Ability to be responsive and provide good customer communication and service.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, with hours ranging from 0 to 40+ per week.

Must have access to the internet.

Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.

Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

Ability to travel 75% as needed, including air and overnight travel.

Ability to travel internationally, as needed.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record.

Experience working with the National Electrical Code (NEC).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Ability to lift/carry at least 40 pounds. Ability to climb at least 30 feet. Ability to work with various levels of noise.

This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications

Experience preferably as an Installer, Technician, Electrician, Contractor or Electrical Inspector.

An associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
