Position Summary

California, USA/ West Coast USA (Remote)

With our growing demand as the leading cyber-security provider for Application, Data, and API security, we are looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in the Americas Western region. Sales Engineers are an integral part of Imperva’s sales organization and assist the sales team with pre-sales technical knowledge and presentations. They work closely with sales managers, prospects and partners as the subject-matter expert to demonstrate how a proposed solution meets and exceeds customer requirements. Our preference is someone whose technical strengths include a heavy emphasis in one of the following areas: Database Security & Architecture, Data warehousing or Web Application Security.

This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check. Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits, providing product demonstrations in person and via teleconferencing, and working with prospects at both a technical and business level to show how Imperva's solutions can provide value to them.
  • Possess demonstrable skills in customer-centric selling and a proven track record using it to help drive revenue.
  • Plan, manage, and execute product and service demonstrations, and proofs of value.
  • Work independently and as a vital member of the sales team.
  • Work with the sales team to strategize on sales approaches to develop business.
  • Participate as a technical resource at trade shows and conferences when needed.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Data Architecture, Database Administration, network security, web application development or related security solutions
  • Familiarity in databases (Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase, DB2)
  • Experience in Linux administration
  • Must have a foundational knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancers, proxies, and firewalls
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Compliance standards knowledge (PCI, SOX, HIPAA) – an advantage
  • Experience in DevOps environment (understand tools, processes, culture) - an advantage
  • A self-reliant, multi-tasker driven to personal success without explicit top-down instructions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Able to effectively present technical material to small and large groups.

Special Position Requirements

Pay Transparency

The anticipated TTC range for this role is $116,900.00 - $217,100.00 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
