Job description

At TixTrack, we support our clients by creating superior ticketing solutions for performing arts, cultural institutions, attractions and immersive experiences through a combination of modern technology, beautifully simple design, and the art of listening.

One of our core products, Ticketure, is a fast-growing Museum, Art Gallery and Attraction ticketing platform. In 2024 we issued more than 45M tickets for our clients and processed over $700M in ticket sales.

Our clients include institutions you have heard of such as the Guggenheim in New York, The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Hoover Dam! We are a cloud hosted multi-tenant platform with ticket buying and staff facing websites and an iOS POS. The Ticketure dev team, loosely based in Wellington, New Zealand, operates in an Agile, iterative learning environment, where teams have the flexibility to shape their own processes and drive innovation.

Ticketure is a product of TixTrack Inc, a US based ticketing and analytics company formed about 16 years ago. In addition to Ticketure, TixTrack has a ticketing platform, Nliven, designed for events requiring reserved seating and a SaaS revenue management product. TixTrack sold ~$2B worth of tickets on behalf of our customers in 2024. Nliven currently sells 5 of the top 8 shows on Broadway.

We are a small, but growing team of hardworking, highly motivated individuals. We are passionate about our work and driven to innovate with our customers to solve current and future challenges with new solutions. With a presence across the US, UK, and New Zealand, we are anticipating robust growth in 2025. Even with a highly dispersed, largely remote workforce, we stay connected through our Slack channels, virtual events and regional meetups. Come see how we “role”.

About The Role

The Platform Engineer supports the cloud infrastructure of the Ticketure platform, including CI/CD pipelines and base of our software stack. This position enhances system performance and reliability, implements solutions aligned with our roadmap, and contributes to the team’s overall strategy. This position reports directly to the SVP, Engineering.

The Ticketure team is a small multi-disciplinary, multi-geography, work-from-home team whose product and customer base is growing rapidly. We sell museum and attraction tickets – a lot of them – from multiple AWS regions.

We are looking to expand our Cloud/Platform team with a multi-talented engineer.

This position is for full-time permanent employment in New Zealand and is fully remote. Candidates must be based in New Zealand, with a preference for those located in Wellington. Candidates must also be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.

About You
  • You have experience managing and securing cloud infrastructure, with expertise in AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • You excel at solving technical challenges, balancing performance, resiliency, and cost, while prioritizing security.
  • You enjoy collaborating, working across teams to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • You’re detail-oriented and proactive, continuously improving systems for reliability and performance.
What You'll Do
  • Work across all parts of our cloud infrastructure including our CI/CD pipeline and the lower parts of our software stack as necessary.
  • Continuously improve our existing solutions and our ability to monitor them, reason about them, report on them and detect and prevent miss-use.
  • Scope, design, implement, deploy, and monitor solutions in support of our roadmap, making considered tradeoffs between performance, resiliency, engineering effort and cost.
  • Understand and care deeply about security and data protection; working closely with our VP Security to ensure security best practices are implemented and always followed.
  • Collaborate with other backend engineers and the wider team to ensure all parts of our technology stack work well together.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding and infrastructure support tasks for our B2B clients.
  • Actively monitor our systems, and at times be responsible for responding to alarms and being on-call.
  • Be flexible and willing to identify and focus on those aspects of the role that would most benefit the Ticketure team in achieving its goals.
  • Provide expertise and contribute to the team’s strategy and roadmap.
