The BICC is a remote group that empowers the Purdue data community to provide insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in enterprise-level BI systems and applications
- Lead the BI development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, ETL processes, and access mechanisms
- Ensure production support and maintenance of data warehouses, resolving complex programming issues
- Collaborate on system performance optimization and interoperability
- Develop code, data extracts, and summarization routines
- Prepare documentation and facilitate testing and validation events

This is a remote position.
What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, engineering, or related discipline
- Four (4) years of experience in software systems development and programming
- Two (2) years of experience in data warehousing or business intelligence
- In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience
Skills Needed:
- Experience:
- in a variety of BI environments and experience with BI tools
- with structured design, development, and implementation of new computing architectures
- with a variety of data sources (SAP, exposure to dashboards, OLAP and data mining tools, SQL, Oracle, Flat Files, Excel, etc)
- in cross functional team environments
- Metadata and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of constituents (e.g. subject-matter experts, vendors, customers, etc.) on a wide variety of applications and infrastructure to identify and resolve issues
- Demonstrated ability to administer enterprise level services including version control systems, relational databases, web servers, or other complex applications
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, documentation and collaboration with those supporting and using complex applications and systems
- Knowledge of:
- databases, data mining, and data warehousing systems
- application functionality, operating systems, & foundational infrastructure
