The Opportunity  

Sr. Product Manager, AI leads the change and drives product strategy, coordinates cross-functional execution, and shapes the go-to-market approach for one of Benetech’s most ambitions initiatives. This position will operate at the intersection of product, AI and education, with a direct hand in making education more accessible.

 

Key Responsibilities  

 

  • Owns the end-to-end product lifecycle for Bookshare+, from user research and roadmap strategy to feature delivery and iteration. 
  • Leads a cross-functional team toward clear OKRs, proactively removes blockers, and drives execution across product, engineering, design, and outreach. 
  • Partners with accessibility and education experts to ensure our tools help educators meet accessibility standards in classrooms.  
  • Drives rapid validation cycles with schools and education institutions; translates feedback into scalable, impactful solutions. 
  • Collaborates with leadership and development teams to shape compelling funding proposals and align with strategic goals. 
  • Acts as the connective tissue between teams, senior leadership, and stakeholders — keeping communication clear, aligned, and actionable. 
  • Delivers outcome-focused reports that showcase learning impact, usage metrics, and progress toward compliance and growth goals. 
Qualifications

Qualifications and Core Competencies 

 

Required: 

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Education, Business, Business Administration or equivalent industry experience. 
  • 6+ years of product management experience building and shipping software products.  
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver meaningful outcomes. 
  • Strong data fluency — comfortable setting metrics, analyzing user behavior, and running experiments. 
  • Experience managing stakeholder communication, setting roadmaps, and aligning across orgs. 
  • Comfortable in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with high expectations. 

 

Preferred:

  • Experience in education-tech  
  • Experience working in non-profit and accessibility settings  
  • Familiarity with WCAG standards, ADA regulations, or institutional sales cycles. 
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies and how they intersect with user experience. 
  • Previous involvement with grant writing or impact reporting. 

 

Travel Obligations: 10% for team retreats, research or funder meetings
