👋 Hi, I’m Ali - Director of HR, and I’m searching for a driven and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our small-but-mighty team. The ideal fit is someone who is proactive and resourceful with a strong understanding of HR best practices and a passion for fostering a positive and productive work environment. 

As an HR Generalist at Dwolla, you’ll have the opportunity to work in every aspect of HR. This includes, but is not limited to, employee onboarding and offboarding, running payroll, benefits and FMLA administration, administering training and more! You can expect to spend about 80% of your time on administrative tasks (answering daily questions from employees, inputting data and running reports, etc) and about 20% of your time on project-based work (benefits open enrollment, annual performance review set-up and execution, audits, etc).

What else is expected of an HR Generalist at Dwolla?
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding activities 
  • Help maintain HR and employee data, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and confidentiality of the data in the human resources systems
  • Partner with Finance team to execute company payroll, ensuring accurate administration and timely processing
  • Assist with all benefits activities, including new hire enrollment, annual open enrollment, and benefits-related questions/changes/issues throughout the plan year
  • Provide daily HR business partner support to the organization, responding timely to employees' HR needs
  • Be the main point of contact for FMLA administration by gathering information, preparing paperwork, and other activities to support the process
  • Assist with the administration of performance management cycles 
  • Help facilitate performance discussions between leaders and team members and assist with conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, ensuring compliance with company policies when necessary
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Assist with conducting employee engagement surveys, including analyses of the data
  • Help execute compensation strategies and framework
  • Assist with HR audits and compliance reviews
  • Assist in strategic planning for company culture and events by evaluating team feedback, proposing event plans and helping execute final plans
  • Help lead company-wide trainings on a variety of HR topics throughout the year
  • Assist in the rotation of retrieving company mail and distributing accordingly 
  • When needed, assist the Talent Recruiter with various recruiting and hiring activities, including: posting roles, conducting interviews, scheduling interviews with hiring team, and communication/planning with hiring managers
  • Ad hoc business projects and other duties as assigned

  • Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Two or more years of proven work experience in human resources job discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related discipline
  • Strong project management and organization skills, with the ability to manage several priorities concurrently and meet deadlines with accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Proven experience navigating HRIS systems and benefits portals
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, etc) and Microsoft Excel a bonus
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional internal customer service skills
