Job description

Brivo is looking for a passionate and engaged Lead DevOps Engineer to maintain and optimize a scalable cloud platform and support ongoing development. In this role you will build, mentor, and motivate a world-class DevOps team that can leverage cutting-edge software delivery methods and implement operational best practices in an Agile environment. 

The SRE Team supports Brivo's cloud infrastructure and critical production applications and observability. We develop a wide range of technical solutions for application runtimes, systems integrations, security implementations and disaster recovery. Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the Cloud Operations team to support 24/7/365 multi-cloud operations, provide maximum uptime and security while optimizing hosting costs. This includes on-call duties.
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement new security tools and systems
  • Maintain development and production environments for engineering teams in accordance with corporate SLA.
  • Lead team projects and initiatives from inception to rollout--managing team deliverables and dependencies while communicating timelines and expectations to stakeholders.
  • Provide knowledgeable, confident, high-level support within the organization to resolve internal and external customer issues.
  • Mentor team members to improve processes and promote best practices, hold the team to a high standard of professionalism and discipline in performing production-related tasks.
  • Promote continuous learning and improvement of platform, devops and quality strategies

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working in the AWS Cloud as an SRE/DevOps technical lead
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team of engineers.
  • Strong high-level technical experience with front end web technologies, CDN, header security and web server configuration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS, including but not limited to EKS, EC2, Load Balancers, S3, Aurora, VPC, Route53, CLI/API, API Gateway, CloudFront, Lambda.
  • Experience supporting change management in a nimble environment.
  • Experience providing performance management, goal setting and mentoring  for individual contributors.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining large commercial distributed software installations
  • Experience with observability/monitoring tools such as DataDog, Kibana, Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced 24/7 operations shop, responding to and identifying potential and active issues and determining a course of action.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using Jenkins or similar.
  • Experience with Configuration Management, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Experience scripting in Python, Bash or Go.
  • Experience supporting message bus queuing systems such as Kafka, Kinesis or RabbitMQ.

The compensation package for this full-time position includes a base salary range of $150,000-$185,000. Individual compensation packages are based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, training, and market conditions.
