Job Description

Our Corporate Pharmacy team focuses on providing high-quality, cost-effective pharmacy services to members. We manage prescription drug benefits, oversee medication safety programs, and collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal drug therapy outcomes. This team works to enhance the overall health and wellness of members by integrating clinical expertise, innovative solutions, and strong partnerships with pharmacies and healthcare professionals.

This role is responsible for utilizing strong functional/technical area knowledge and expertise to define, evaluate, and validate requirements, business functional design, and technical design for complex business issues. Acting as a liaison between the Pharmacy departments and IT, the incumbent will develop effective technical solutions to minimize operational and system/application impacts. Key responsibilities include supporting Pharmacy Quality Team initiatives, providing advanced technical support, coordinating ongoing user support, and facilitating projects and initiatives.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Support Pharmacy Quality Team initiatives and work on Medicare Part D Patient Safety measure gap closure

  • Provide advanced technical knowledge and support in system/application and procedural issues to the business and IT and help the business find technical solutions to meet their goals.

  • Use judgment and initiative to review, analyze and develop solutions and applicable business processes for business systems while identifying and quantifying the business impact of those solutions to ensure quality, cost effectiveness, timeliness and customer service, including the resolution of large, complex production system problems.

  • Provide systems analysis expertise and regularly considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment

  • Coordinate ongoing user support for ad hoc questions, inquiries, and service requests.

  • Ensure efficiency of reporting and data tools for supported business area use and for trend analysis. 

  • Coordinate the development of system support processes with IT; coordinate daily to resolve production support issues, including application failures and user errors; document, track and report all system support activities

  • Work collaboratively on projects and initiatives with the business and IT to test and implement long-term solutions by eliciting and documenting business requirements and preparing appropriate functional specifications while considering technical capabilities of the system/application and ensuring an integrated approach is used.

  • Act as Business Lead/Coordinator on large, complex departmental and/or some corporate projects/initiatives. 

  • Facilitates project including intake, scheduling of projects, implementation, post-implementation support, and review and approve technical specifications

  • Serve as point of contact for business testing activities and influence testing strategy to ensures testing will appropriately meet business requirements

  • Analyze and verify results for accuracy, relevance and completeness. Provide impact assessments and make recommendations to the business owner regarding issues, risks, etc. 

  • Train/coach others on appropriate testing protocol, execution and test plan creation. 

  • Assist IT and help identify business area impacts for hardware and software upgrades, security changes, and architectural enhancements as needed.

  • Configure and maintain critical system tables and data elements across multiple system environments

  • Analyze, develop and implement configuration changes to improve system performance and user efficiency

  • Provide timely and accurate reporting/data on inventory, productivity, user activity, and system performance on a regular and/or as requested basis.

  • Monitor configuration for accuracy and compliance to change control processes.

  • Collaborate with pharmacy benefits manager to assess program effectiveness and implement suggested recommendations for improvement when appropriate.

  • May have budget responsibilities to control expenditures in accordance with budget allocations, together with the conformance to timing, limits and usage of funding as agreed upon in the spending plan for the assigned program.

What You'll Bring (Hiring Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required).

  • 5+ years of experience in a related field.

  • Strong functional/technical area knowledge and expertise with relevant systems/applications.

  • Ability to define, evaluate, and validate requirements and technical designs for complex business issues.

  • Experience coordinating with IT to support problem resolution, testing, software upgrades, and related projects.

  • Proven ability to analyze business systems and identify solutions while considering technical capabilities.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel

  • Experience in healthcare or pharmacy-related industries is a plus.

Nice to Have (Hiring Preferences)

  • Medicare knowledge and/or experience

  • Experience with the following applications/platforms: Salesforce, Care Radius or relevant fulfillment tool (e.g., Blue Connect)

  • Ability to manage tight timelines and/or competing priorities.

Salary Range

$75,900.00 - $136,600.00
