Our mission is to enable everyone to contribute to and co-create the software that powers our world. This mission is integral to our culture, influencing how we hire, build products, and lead our industry. As a Product Designer in GitLab's Package & Registry group, you'll create intuitive experiences that help developers manage their packages and container images more efficiently. You'll solve complex technical challenges while ensuring GitLab remains at the forefront of DevSecOps tooling. Your work will directly impact how thousands of companies worldwide handle their software supply chain and dependencies, helping developers ship secure code faster and with greater confidence.
You'll join an established team where you'll work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and UX Researchers. Success in this role means balancing technical complexity with user simplicity, designing solutions that work for both beginner and advanced GitLab users. You'll report to the Product Design Manager while working as an embedded designer with your Package & Registry teammates.
The Package & Registry team creates and maintains the components that make GitLab a comprehensive solution for storing and managing packages and container images. We focus on container registries, package registries, and dependency management to provide users with a seamless experience in managing their software supply chain.
Our team is currently tackling exciting challenges in the FY26 Continuous Integration roadmap. We're designing virtual registries that allow developers to pull from multiple sources, creating immutable tags for container security, and building dependency firewalls to protect users from vulnerabilities. These features require us to balance complex technical requirements with intuitive user experiences, making this an ideal role for designers who enjoy technical challenges.
What makes our team special is our efficient, autonomous approach. We expect designers to act as experts and advocates for GitLab users of all knowledge levels. You'll have significant influence over how millions of developers worldwide manage their software dependencies and delivery pipelines.
Please note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. Additionally, studies have shown that people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to a job unless they meet every single qualification. If you're excited about this role, please apply and allow our recruiters to assess your application.
