With a specialized focus on fast food (QSR), non-traditional, c-store, fast casual, GPO, and healthcare segments, they're redefining fresh produce sourcing. Produce Alliance manages partnerships with over 150 independently owned specialty distributors, and collaborate with over 100 premium grower shippers. This position is remotely based with anticipated travel of 25% for customer conferences, business reviews, and bi-annual customer meetings. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role. 

The Executive Customer Account Manager is responsible for managing and strengthening client relationships while driving strategic growth initiatives. This role requires exceptional communication, organizational skills, and the ability to proactively deliver solutions that enhance the client experience. The individual will act as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment on key initiatives, procurement processes, and client satisfaction.

Your impact:

Client Dashboard Management & Reporting:

  • Provide weekly updates to all client dashboards.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Account Manager and Supply Chain Team to refine client dashboards and align on performance metrics.
  • Utilize the client dashboards to ensure consistent communication across departments.

RFP & Procurement Management:

  • Conduct RFPs on behalf of clients, including clear communication on cost changes, savings opportunities, and absorbed increases.
  • Manage internal timelines to ensure timely delivery of RFP outcomes.
  • Lead client renewal processes by facilitating internal preparation meetings and ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Oversee procurement processes and contract updates to support client needs.

Strategic Growth & Client Engagement:

  • Conduct regular (multi-week) touchpoints with the Supply Chain Manager to maintain alignment and evaluate growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate onsite visits, including grower/field tours, warehouse visits, product testing, produce training, and culinary innovation.
  • Drive strategic initiatives to expand client business and increase category performance.
  • Organize and support client business reviews and conferences.

Category Leadership:

  • Serve as the internal expert in the convenience store and meal kit vertical, leveraging data insights to identify trends, behavior patterns, and investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with New Business Development to explore and develop growth opportunities within the category.
  • Manage client-specific dashboards to identify synergies and provide insights to the Custom Leadership Team.
  • Achieve growth targets for both the category and individual accounts within the portfolio.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Maintain close communication with Business Development, Supply Chain Manager, Senior Supply Chain Analyst, Pricing, Food Safety, and the Director of Custom Account Management.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Act as the escalation point or temporary fill-in for the Customer Account Manager as needed.
  • Participate in weekly client and distributor touchpoints to ensure effective communication.
  • Oversee Custom Distribution account implementation and renewal activities.
  • Provide a comprehensive monthly category update report to the Director of Custom Account Management.

About you:

  • 3+ years' experience managing account relationships.
  • Produce knowledge/produce management background.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proven experience in client relationship management, account leadership, or strategic growth roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Attention to detail with a strong desire to deliver value-added support to clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced team environment as well as independently.
  • Must be flexible to assist with client needs outside normal business hours as needed.
  • Ability to critically think about customer needs proactively.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel.
