BEMS Engineer - London

Alarm Communications Limited are a leading team of fire protection, commercial security and building management systems specialists, with our Head Office located in Surrey. Our client base is predominantly built of prestigious buildings and landmarks, such as high-end hotels, stadia and education establishments in and around Greater London. We are currently looking to appoint a new BEMS Commissioning Engineer specifically covering the London region.

Basic Salary – £ 50,000 - £60,000 Basic Salary, Subject to experience

Alarm Communication’s BEMS Engineer’s

Maintain & Service existing BEMS systems, identifying and rectifying any faults or irregularities and ensuring all remedial and small projects are delivered successfully on time to specification, with the intention of always exceeding the client’s expectations. You will be required to offer clients opportunities for any upgrades or improvements to the control systems, delivering a fantastic and professional service to both new and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out control panel modifications and installations as required.
  • Supporting new contract mobilisations by assessing and reporting on new clients existing installations.
  • Attend sites as required to carry out Small Works or Projects.
  • Provide the customer with written reports detailing works carried out and highlight and detail any further works required to rectify faulty equipment.
  • Develop excellent customer relationships to consistently improve the service and contribute to their understanding of the equipment.
  • Attend customer sites to investigate and rectify faulty control systems, including field wiring, electrical control panels, GUI’s and BMS controllers.
  • Ensure that the Company’s Quality standard and other compliance standards are continually maintained and adhered to.
  • Supporting engineers with technical assistance and technical development.
  • Liaising closely with the Contract Manager and Service Manager to deliver the expectations of our customers.
  • To advise clients on potential improvements, future proofing and recommendations for their system.
  • To provide and deliver supporting information and management discipline.

Essential

  • Strong engineering background with a minimum of 5 years as a BEMS Controls Engineer.
  • Solid experience of TREND hardware, networks, and or Tridium control platforms.
  • C & G level 2 upwards or equivalent Electrical qualifications.
  • Able to demonstrate strong diagnostic skills on control problems.
  • Must have excellent mechanical plant knowledge.
  • Happy to work within a team but also have a proactive approach working alone and managing your own time.
  • Have a keen interest in the integration of different systems.
  • Must have a full clean driving licence.
  • Have an interest in energy management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, to motivate and influence at all levels.
  • The confidence to contribute, advise and challenge the status quo.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to support and provide guidance as a mentor to junior staff members and apprentices.

 

Desirable

  • Tridium N4 Certification
  • Trend Expert Status (current or prior)
  • Knowledge of ISO9001
  • Working experience with Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) or cloud-based job and project management software Systems.
